Both. Plus Ratts and Mitchell. Plus a Pony.

can you tell us a bit more about the pony please?

Did the pony come from Old Xav"s?, whats it's connection to Lethlean? what draft pick will it cost and how many years? I heard the stable wanted our 1st pick.

No hay man are they getting our 1st DP, its just a pony,

I googled the pony, was hoping for something flashy, from one of those super-dooper interstate stables ( artist impression included )

instead in true St Kilda fashion, we ended up giving up our 1st rnd pick, 800k x 5yrs and got this.....

so now I've got a long face and a horse throat, the club looks like a foal, and the AFL is ready to send us out to pasture

Tweet from Rahul........'Of course Caro is the only one in the media ballsy enough to call out the Old Xavs boys club at St Kilda. Jack Rush, Simon Lethlean, now Damien Honan and Gubby Allan. And of course our #1 trade target is Dan Hannebery. Said it before, will say it again, this club is f""ked.'

I said a few months ago that a couple of groups at least had lined up waiting for an opportunity to stage a takeover. Been brewing a couple of years at least. My source was ITK but has sadly passed away since. So all I knew was what was brewing even before our horror year.

I am intrigued why the Old Xav's thing is so bad....another boy's club perhaps.

Are they good at their job?

All that matters.

Jobs for the boys is another thing.

It's not directly related to richo but another massive problem is the sandringham alignment. I don't know why anyone thought that it would be a good idea to prioritise a women's team over a proper reserves side. Melbourne, Hawthorn, and Carlton also have alignments with vfl clubs but as far as I can tell, those clubs seem to be content in a long term arrangement with their AFL partner and appear to function pretty much the same as the clubs with their own sides. I don't think you can say that about St Kilda - we have a player and coach from the club working at a different reserves team, the alignment with sandy itself has been shaky, there's been talk of discontent there and so on. You can't expect to have a successful senior team if the reserves are a mess. I think using the VFL as a reserves league is a bad idea, but there's nothing St Kilda can do about that other than identifying having their own reserves as a priority.

Totally agree. When do we move to our own VFL team?

Your number of years is printed on the back of your membership card. Or it is on our 4 cards and has been that may for many years now.
yeah i know that i was more talking club wide... im a bit of a buff for statistics so i think it would be interesting to see what the average years of membership is for our club ... im guessing that while we dont have the largest member numbers i reckon we have got a very large longer membership ....
i talk to members here in Perth a lot and i reckon we have at least 15 off the top of my head members who are 30+ year members considering we have 1600 members in WA i reckon thats a fair indication a large % or our members are 20+ years in

Hannebery would be the best player we've recruited in years. Look at how Essendon were able to improve through getting good players in the door. Last two years we've traded in 1 best 22 player in Steele. If Lethlean has connections to Hannebery that's actually a good thing for us.

You're damned if you do, damned if you don't sometimes. Lethlean comes in and makes changes... "Oh it's all his mates he's getting in".

Who knows, maybe they have a clue about how to run a football club?

I would assume that it's because having a women's team is expected to increase revenue and a proper reserves team will be a cost.

Not having a reserve team up and running is a massive disappointment for me. That's a big fail from the Summers era presidency.

the fact the AFL wants us to have a AFLW team but are not fussed on us having a VFL team is closer to the reason why we dont have a VFL team ...
the VFL dont want us to have a VFL team either as bringing in a standalone Saints team would mean the demise of another VFL team and from what i hear thats the last thing they want ...

Spot on there Saints43...….

With the Womens team...…….Reflex jumped on as a 5 year sponsor earlier this year...…$2.5 Mill over 5 years from memory.

From memory......a few posters who spoke to Prez last season said they were told it was a cost issue for not having a stand alone side.

The club is in a mess, and there's no one else to blame but the president and board. Their direction and appointments during their tenure have done nothing other than make this club a joke, and put their members and supporters in a state of despair.

The situation certainly has me in a state of despair.

This time last year we bought Playfair onboard......after it was mooted there would be changes to the asst coaches…...that was a start.a defensive coach from a successful outfit....and that was basically it....Hamill went to Sandy.

Then Richo had his contract extended.....that wasn't a good idea as we all know.

It has all unraveled in spectacular fashion since.

At the end of the day.....the buck has to stop somewhere.....and the reality is that all of our issues have surfaced under the current admins watch.

You live by the sword and also die from the sword.

Media is hammering us the last few days. Seems like it's all reaching a breaking point.

In a perverted way I enjoy seeing us get smashed in the media. Sometimes it's good to strip back the bullshit and call it for what it is than hopping around the issue.

Reminds me of this...
