The genuine talent is all midfielders though. If Cloke goes this year you wil nothing in the forward line and no ruckman. Reid and Brown will only ever be defenders.

And yet we have the same premierships as them. Hmmm. Considering Brisbane beat up on two very ordinary Collingwood sides because their main contenders choked before even getting to the big dance I'm not even sure Brisbane derserve 3.

If you want to count premierships before Hitler, the invention of plastic blow up dolls, the gym and when players were less professional then the teams playing at your local oval, then why don't you count all of them rather then just the ones from the time when your team was dominant? Personally I don't regard anything until the AFL started so those numbers are meaningless to me. Before 1990 premierships were handed to teams with ridiculously biased zoning and are irrelevant. Since then we are the best under any measure. Sucks to not be us hey!

They are scouring the land for a ruckman, trying to pry Giles loose at the moment and looking at Martin and Pederson for the resting ruck/forward role. In reserve we have the 209cm monster Witts for the #1 role and Ceglar for the secondary, probably both a year or so away
Sounds like we'll cave on the 5th year for Cloke but if not reserve is largely unknown, Keeffe consolidated as a key defender at 204cm before he did his knee this year but has been used in the L Brown role to great effect, 3 goals on debut. Paine was very promising in his first year and his contested marking was a feature but ideally would need another year, also getting a kid named James Stewart under father/son that is a CHF but won't be ready, after that we'd be looking at spending the 800K left over from Cloke to target a replacement
The area we really need to recruit and develop though is genuine line breaking speed, only Mooney on our list has Jetta like speed so that is an area they will look at very closely

If you guys believe you are a shot at a premiership next year then you will need better ruckmen then them. I would personally go for McIntosh. If he was fit he would be a better pick up then Jolly was. Speed is another shortfall you have, but its easier to come by then key forwards and ruckman. Another quality half forward flanker would be a huge boom as well. It used to be your strenth with Didak, Medhurst and Thomas in the forward line and now its a bit of a weakness.
