Is something more going on? Missed 5 (or 6?) weeks now and has just been a late withdrawal due to "illness".
Is there more to the story or has he simple had a bad run?

I don't think there is anything untoward going on. He's just had a bad run.
They named him to play today, why would they do that if they knew he wouldn't be playing? They're only playing Gold Coast, so it's not like they were doing anything tactical.

I'd say he has an illness.

Because it's 4:40 on a sunday against Gold Coast they lie to get people to show up.

This is pretty frustrating, now he'll have to kick 10 against Sydney if he wants the Coleman

Robbo said on Thursday night that although he's read into all the dodgy rumours(which he didn't elaborate on) and called the AFL and Hawthorn and he claims the rumours aren't true, but he said if Buddy gets pulled out of this match he thinks somethings up.

Gee its almost like you have posted that before! Weird....

Definitely on 35 strikes.

Demetriou called him at three quarter time of their game against Carlton and told him to fake a hamstring injury and then play half a game the following week before faking an aggravation of the injury. Then you are suspended for a few weeks so pretend to be injured and get named but withdrawl with illness. We will then tell a few people on twitter and bigfooty just to be sure of it.

It's all a big coverup. Because that makes a lot of sense.

Alternatively, a premiership contender has been highly cautious with its best player after he came back too early from an injury because they want him fit for finals. But that would be implausible.
