Found it strange it goes from that crash to some point in the future in Budapest, with no explanation. I guess that will be explained in around episode 3 of season 2, but a little unsatisfactory for me.

Yeah it was a bit odd. If Charles Dance sent someone to kill him a car crash is a sloppy way of doing it. If it was just a regular car crash he would have been taken to hospital and fixed up. The local police don't suspect him of anything and it might have taken a while for the bodies at his house to be discovered. We also don't know what happened to his mate Gary from Afghanistan.

Overall it was a top show and has apparently been greenlit for a second season. I'm glad it won't feature Bianca. She was an annoying smart-arse so why should we care about her family life that was inserted into every episode? And the idea of an overweight female desk operative being sent on wetwork missions is ridiculous.

What? Show could be described as solid build. Serena won 20+ slams with similar build. Hank was DEA agent in BB.

Then there's

But I also am not unhappy that Bianca is dead, we think... Was it clear where she was shot? She may have had a vest on and just suffering a little minor concussion, and some plasma leakage.

Serena has a big booty but in her playing days had a trim waistline and very toned arms. Even if Lashana Lynch had Serena's physique they wouldn't have an office based intelligence officer carry out an assassination on foreign soil. There are specialist teams for that - either SAS or for a off-the-books mission, private contractors who would be ex-special forces.

She was sent on an off the books mission so they could also have her knocked off

Finale…yeh narrr

Lane car chase yeh narr..and the Cop Motorcycle falling off…yeh narrr

Let’s get him when he gets in his house where he knows the layout…couldn’t get him getting out of the car..the driveway..the entrance to the property….??? yeh nar

Grandma stabs a 15 cm blade into shoulder blade yet our anti hero manages to do nothing about it, walks through an airport, flies and drives home and still manages to run around his joint ninja style without as much as a flinch…yeh Nar

This series started off well but the latter part of the season became too Tin Tin

Disappointing finale

After she was meant to kill him. Which she failed to do - because she's an insubordinate intelligence officer not a special forces operative.

Earlier in the show they sent her on an assassination attempt in Belarus, which was just as ridiculous.

Her wooden acting throughout led to no audience connection and by the final scene did anyone in the audience actually care all that much?
My first thought was whether the bullet hit the protective chest gear, not “woah I hope she’s not dead “

Series got a bit sloppy after such a tight and clever first half of the season.
That’s a fair criticism but I still enjoyed it.

I suspect that it was going to be a limited series but that they changed their minds as it went on. It therefore had a few odd moments and I reckon they decided late to kill off Bianca and have the hot wife on the run.

It does leave some really great possibilities for season 2 though.

As good as it was it really doesn’t need a second season.
I reckon it does only because I want to see that jackal campaigner get a bullet in the forehead.
My own view is that it was originally intended to be one season, with Bianca taking out the jackal in the last episode, similar to the original film. The producers probably thought they were onto a good thing part way through, so that plan went out the window.

I'm sorry that a fiction show that involves a number of unrealistic scenarios, included another unrealistic scenario.
