Goodbye Andy. Its great you have been given the flick. At the very least you wont be called the MCG specialist as you wont be playing for us anymore. I am glad that Danny's project player is gone usless for us. Why dont you go to North Melbourne, Fremantle or Port Adelaide and you can hang with D-Rod. I think you wont get any better and I don't know how you managed 7 years on our list, oh well 102 games I hope like anything your sons will be alot better than you.

Thanks for your service P Bowden, B Hartigan and T Klignan :D

Disagree mate. Johnson is not the best player in our 22, but he definitely isn't the worst. I think he is undervalued in terms of the confidence he can give our kids when the pressure is on. We can't have 18 teenagers running around, we need some experience out there to lead and teach them.

Similar to Joel, I don't think you can write off a bloke many of our kids look to hand off to when they're under the pump. He may not play in our next grand final but he definitely has value as we get games into the boys.

Fair enough, however IMO it's time for the youngsters to step up and take responsibility. Sometimes the older blokes are expected to carry the side, which is fine if you are top flight, but Johnson is declining as a player but is still expected to lead the way, giving others the false impression that they can sit back to a degree and watch Johnson make it happen. Guys like Foley, Deledio, Tambling, Coughlan, Tuck, Polo & Jackson should be the basis of the midfield next year, while giving oportunities to youngsters such as conners and edwards. That will be hard if Johnson and Tivendale continue to take the prime spots.

He'd have to be still hanging by a thread...

They can still chop more players can't they?

They need to because there have been seven delistings / retirements and we have added Gus, King, McMahon and Morton. Which leaves three spots and we have to have a minimum three selections in the draft. And we will use the PSD pick so expect at least one more delisting.

I don't get the delisting of Tas Clingan, he has only been on the Rookie list for this year and can be retained for another 1-2 years on a base contract, from what I had seen of him playing he showed that he has potential and that is what these Rookies are for, plus I wouldn't think the depth of this draft would allow for great rookies, it seems very strange to me.

That's very harsh. It never ceases to amaze me how some folks take a player and his underacheivement personally, like it is an attack on the supporters. Sure, Krak wasn't what many of us would have expected with such a surname, but he was very beneficial to the club in other areas such as Indigenous player development. And while his inconsistancy was his downfall, he gave us many onfield highlights in the yellow and black that i will never forget.

Of all the delistings over the last few years, his is the most saddening to me, as is the pathetic attitude of some so-called RFC supporters.

I liked the look of Hartigan. He had some go about him. Didn't get much of an opportunity in recent times although he did have some injury problems. He's still young and I think he should be given another chance. His run and carry is great, perhaps someone like Melbourne could do with him?

I ask you how many chances has Andy Krakouer had? He has too many for my liking. He is 24 years old and he should be showing more but he did not. He did play some very good games. They were too far in between, Its good to say he did not fulfil his potential.

So did I but there is only so long you can put up with constant injury.

Freo are interested in him.

Not if Bowden takes the 2nd vacant spot on the Veterans list.

There are many Richmond players that have been given many chances, so why does he deserve such treatment. I have clearly said that his inconsistency was his downfall.

He lacked pace for a small forward, and didn't develop the motor for midfield duties, so unfortunately he was always going to struggle.

I'm not saying the club is not justified in delisting him, but i take offence to fools who then turn around and abuse our ex-players.

He is part of the RFC family, and should be treated as such.

Delistment of P.Bowden was stupid imo. Bowden > Howat. A much better ball user and had a great 2006 season only to be hampered by injury this year. Hartigan and Krak well good luck to the both of them but they just haven't proven themselves enough to warrant a listing next year.

Bit of a bad comparison Grech because Howat is a rookie so wouldnt have freed up a senior list spot like Paddy.

the sad thing with this is some of the other players who have not got the cut just yet are in the same boat, meyer who has only played one good game and the rest being poor, should be getting rubbished alot more than kraks.

Krak has had far more opportunity than Meyer and shown nothing. Give Meyer 5 games straight and see how he goes. If nothing, goodnight nurse.

the delisting of paddy bowden was pretty disappointing, because we are taking a gamble on getting talls in the draft which this year supposedly lacks depth after top 20 and we needed him as an insurance policy at least if the worst happened to thursfield and mcguane. His 1st year was also pretty good and deserved at least another year due to the injuries he has had and he could have still been a huge asset to the club. Means we can also free up polak to go up forward if needed

Its not allowed, we either have to upgrade him or delist him from the rookie list, only allowed 2 years on rookie list.

No, it is now three years.

Because King has been upgraded he will be the "mature rookie" in his 3rd year.

It is 3 years but Howat is too old. He also can not be the mature-age rookie because he has already played AFL. He needs to be promoted or cut.

My understanding was 3 is the minimum in the draft, which leaves us 0 for the PSD.

People need to stop bandying around this minimum 3 picks thing. You have to have 3 vacancies. We can pass on them all if we like and use 3 PSD picks.
