Current Trial The Delphi Teen Murders - Video of killer found in Libby's phone * TRIAL

Andrea Burkhart is just a shill for the defense. Besides backing the 'Odinist's did it' without a shred of evidence, she claimed there wasn't enough blood where the girls bodies were found to have been killed there, despite several large pools (probably a couple of litres in each). She claims the earth isn't porous LOL. She was formerly a defense attorney so not really surprising she is trying to influence her followers of the defense stance that the girls were driven off somewhere by those Odinists and then their bodies brought back at 4am (when the area was teaming with searchers). This stance is just so ridiculous you could almost believe his attorneys are making a play for an appeal for ineffective council. Andrea is adamant Bryan Kohberger is innocent if that gives you an idea. Tom Webster and Lauren Mathias are also in court each day and take copious notes. Both just read their notes from the trial each day with little opinion.

Anyway, there is no doubt RA is guilty. The slam dunk was last night when his prison psychologist testified regarding the many confessions he made to her. One was 'I followed the girls when they crossed the bridge and ordered them down the hill because I intended to rape them, but was interrupted when a white van drove by. I panicked and forced them across the creek where I slashed their throats, making sure they were dead so they didn't suffer. Then I went on with my life" (paraphrased)

The above was exactly the premise of the prosecution - he intended to rape the girls but was interrupted which forced him to take the girls across the creek. After the psychologist, they put the guy with the white van on the stand to confirm the timeline of him returning from work on his (parents) driveway which went under the bridge. The data from Libby's iPhone showing movement, elevation changes, no movement etc. was completely in line with the prosecution theory and RA's own account.

RA's confessions had information only the killer would know. Besides the white van, he claimed to have used a box cutter to slash the girl's throats. The Medical Examiner hadn't indicated a box cutter was used in his report, but on the stand said he later reflected a box cutter could account for the serrations in the girls wounds.

His 'psychosis' while in prison was turned on and off when convenient. He steeled himself with a deep breathe when he would eat his excrement and after doing something to his genitals with a spork, told the guard he wouldn't be doing that again! He even claimed 'what do I have to do to make you believe I'm insane!' - Probably do a little research into psychosis rather than copy what you've seen in the movies.

Overnight the court will hear his recorded confessions he made to his wife and mother. We might also get a look at his search history which of course the defense are trying to exclude.

Thank goodness the jury is sequestered and only has the evidence in court to make their decision. I've only seen utter garbage and lies on twitter and from a number of creators.

Andrea isn't adamant of anything - she just doesn't see there's enough evidence for beyond reasonable doubt. In this case and Kohberger.

I haven't heard her say she backs the Odinist theory - she has said however that the state can push their theory and the defense should be able to do the same.

She is still a practicing defense attorney but mainly at appelate level.

The prison psych's testimony was a hot mess. She was following the case early on and participated in chat rooms about it. She has since been fired.

She was not credible.

re motive - i think saying it’s not sexually related is too simplistic given both girls were undressed ie naked at some point - with one body being redressed but one left naked.

Damn this site, I hadn't even heard of the Delphi case until stumbling on this thread a week or so ago. Thankfully it's a nice clean case and it's been really easy to follow with no detours or maddening number of creeps on the scene. It's like someone watched Twin Peaks and thought 'we've got to one up this'.

So many apparent disastrous errors by the investigation, so many things that click for RA but just enough things to make it seem confusing. If you had a gun and a boxknife and had to kill two kids why would you use the boxknife? (other than no noise - but it really seems like getting them both quickly would be highly problematic) Why did he eject a bullet??? All these things seem to point at RA at the moment but the confessions only come after the guy has been locked up in solitary confinement for a year at which point most people would be pretty loopy and pliable.

That photo of Brad Holder in the flat cap is pretty crazy, the creasing of the cap matches Bridge Guy perfectly. I haven't had a chance to watch/listen to the video posted recently that supposedly shows how much he sounds like Bridge Guy as well... It leaves me wondering if he's related to Noddy Holder. That weird confusing original two POI sketches matches Brad and Logan so accurately as well. Thanks for dropping me down the rabbit hole BigFooty - I'm still falling and don't expect to be landing any time soon!

quoted from abcnews America website article today:
"Cecil testified that Libby's phone gradually powered down throughout the night, died at 10:32 p.m. and then woke with a spike at 4:33 a.m. Cecil said that is when her phone received 15 to 20 text messages all at once. One of the messages, sent nearly 12 hours earlier from Libby's grandmother, said, "You need to call me now!!!""

how does a phone die and then revive itself?

The only good thing about this case is that the jurors can ask questions (and considering they asked if police had searched Delphi and surrounds as to who owns the mystery parked car in question and were told 'no', it's a damn good idea - I know I wish I could have asked questions at the jury sitting I attended).

seems like the ejected bullet (still don't get why anyone would eject a bullet) [although I guess it happens to all of us sometimes if we're tired or drunk] is pretty poor physical evidence and doesn't register the same kind of high quality evidence that a fired bullet can.

also the 'only the killer could have known' evidence about the van sighting is iffy unless I see a verbatim copy of his statement to that psychologist:

"Psychologist Monica Wala testified that, in one of Allen's confessions to her, Allen told her he saw the girls on the trail and followed them to the bridge.

Allen said he ordered the girls "down the hill" and intended to rape them, but then he saw something -- either a person or a van -- and was startled, Wala said. "

'saw something - either a person or a van' is very very open. If I saw a van or a person I could tell you which. They look really different.

If whoever c.ocks the gun in a show of it being loaded and ready to fire they may eject a bullet that is already in the chamber in the process without realizing.
I agree that it is flimsy evidence seen and many guns could be matched to that bullet in that way. also that it showed up after the fact and was never photographed in situ throws doubt on it.

also Weber's original claim that he might have gone out servicing ATMs before going home on the day - considering all the location details they've secured from the girls' mobile phone(s) can't they secure that kind of data from Weber's? Or was it easier to secure that data from the girls' phone(s) [they only ever seem to mention Libby's phone, did Abby not have one?] because they did it very soon after the date the phone was discovered?

They really screwed the pooch with the continual solitary confinement of this guy.

three days of deliberations so far. Clearly nobody thinks it's a cut and dry case against RA.

How is it that Wala, the dodgy prison psychologist, could take confessions UNRECORDED when it seems like everything else he did in jail was recorded? These confessions are going by HER say until the recorded confessions of him on the phone to family which is after the looney tunes times in isolation which would mentally unhinge any sane person, let alone one like himself who has prior mental illnesses. I don't think I could say that he did it without any doubts in my mind. Where's everyone else sit with it?

I have no doubt he is guilty.

To answer your earlier question, he likely racked the gun to intimidate the girls at the bridge (when there wasn't a cartridge in the chamber) and then again at the crime scene and the cartridge, now in the chamber, was ejected. He wanted the girls to comply and sadly they did. That cartridge was proven with a miniscule error rate to be from his gun. That's strong evidence.

Brad Holder's name wasn't mentioned in the trial because there was zero evidence he was involved. Unless of course you feel a meme posted on his facebook about a tree falling in the forest (that's been around since 2012) is evidence. He also had a solid alibi being at work at the time of the murders. The defense SODDI (some other dude did it) that they have been pushing for the last year of a ritualistic murder by evil Odinist's wasn't allowed to be presented because there was zero evidence. It was a theory looked at by law enforcement in the early days of the investigation (as I'm sure many theories were investigated), but once again, it led nowhere because there was no evidence.

iPhone's go into battery saver mode when critically low. I imagine everyone has lost service in a low service area for it to return, it was such a non event it wasn't even discussed at trial. The defense tried to make a big deal about Libby's phone extraction supposedly showing a headphone plugged into the phone jack for several hours after the murders, despite the phone not moving or executing any functions. A fault from dirt or water or a bug crawling into the port is the plausible explanation. Why the defense even mentioned it is a mystery as it had no bearing on RA's guilt or innocence. I realise after RA's arrest the defense was trying to convince the public that the girls were kidnapped by Odinist's, driven off somewhere and killed at another location, then their bodies were brought back at 4am (with the area teaming with searchers). Not sure how they were going to account for all the blood at the scene. Lucky for the defense the judge disallowed them from presenting any of their ridiculous theories. This would be an insult to the intelligence of the jurors.

Prison psychologists do not record their sessions. They take notes and enter them into a database. Walla was subpoenaed to give evidence as were her notes. She told RA that he should not tell her anything about his case, not to talk to anyone but his lawyers, but he insisted on unburdening himself. There were plenty of recorded confessions to his wife and mother, one of them during a session with Walla which was recorded (by the prison communication system).

RA wasn't in solitary confinement. He was in his own cell, he left it 3 times a week for showers, 2 times a week for recreation, nearly every day to meet with the psychologist or she visited him at his cell, had a tablet where he could watch movies or listen to music and make calls to his wife and loved ones as often as he liked. He was kept away from other prisoners for his own protection. He was able to communicate with others every day. That's not solitary confinement. He told his wife he wasn't crazy, he was just acting crazy. I believe him.

The 60+ confessions are damning enough, but the ones to his wife and mother, all recorded and delivered calmly and most definitely with no hint of psychosis (feigned or otherwise) can't be dismissed. If you want to believe they were false memories then please explain how these 'false memories' had details of the crime that only the killer would know.

In one of these confessions, RA said a white van went past that spooked him so he stopped molesting the girls and herded the girls across the creek where he decided to kill them so he could go about his life. The driver of that white van (Brad Webber) might have initially suggested he often serviced his ATMs on the way home, but later looked at his text messages which indicated he went straight home that day. There is electronic evidence he drove down his driveway at the exact time the girls had been forced down the hill. The defense didn't ask for the evidence as it would just solidify the prosecution timeline of the murders. Instead they wanted the FBI agent who took his original statement to testify but they didn't subpoena him until it was too late for him to attend. The defense has been poor, but RA cannot appeal with ineffectual council if found guilty because he went to the supreme court to have them reinstated after they leaked the crime scene photos. Karma.

There is a ton of circumstantial evidence pointing to Richard Allen being bridge guy and there is no doubt bridge guy is the perpetrator.

Again, I have no doubt that Richard Allen murdered Abbey and Libby. I'm not as confident he will be found guilty as it just takes one to dig in and the jurors must be unanimous. He won't be acquitted but it could be a hung jury and we go around again. For the families of the girls I hope this won't be the case.

fantastic post Josephine666! A lot of points that help tip it over the edge from previous information I had heard. I didn't know that Brad's correction was based on text messages and electronically corroborated. Also the iphone battery saver and return I wasn't aware of (otherwise that did seem super weird). Interesting to hear that he wasn't in solitary confinement. I feel way more at ease with his sentencing after reading your post. I wonder if RA will survive both himself and other prisoners...

Big thanks for posting this, often I wouldn’t read a post this long but you’ve filled in a lot of holes in the story for me.

I didn't want to post this before the trial finished and risk the jury seeing it and it affecting their decisions because I really wanted to see Richard Allen in jail because he owes me money, but ultimately he didn't do it... Proof - hiding in plain sight... Delphi? Del Griffithphi more like it. I knew who bridge guy was years ago and Ive kept a lid on it because I'm that kind of a guy. This cannot be faulted.

An Indiana judge has sentenced a man to 130 years in prison for the killings of two teenage girls in 2017 that became known among true-crime followers as the Delphi Murders. It was the maximum sentence for the charges he faced.

Are you able to post the link?

You can see how close he is and that the girls had no way out, what an all time evil pos, hopefully he lives another 40 years in solitary growing increasingly more tortured and insane !!!

You also can't hear either of the girls say "that be a gun" seriously who talks like that.

I would have loved for the pros to play this video in court instead of the manipulated grainy version they altered a million times.

The actual unaltered video shows BG as taller. Looks like Ron Logan to me.
