You **** ****, and I chose my words well as this is in divvy, you have like your brother in keyboards who I was conversing, deeply confused.

ANZAC day is not pick apart the failings of government and Empire day. It is a day of reflection of those who have passed in and out of war including peace time. That is it, if you rocked up at a memorial service of police and called them abbo killers and sycophants for mass killings in 1880 you're sentiment would be equally misplaced and due to ****ed up government policy of the day.

I weaken to draw parallel against a civilian law force and war in the global stage but I wished for an easily understood example.

**** government mistakes day ANZAC day is not, piss in another persons grave and memorial, with out quarter I would happily protect their memories with my life if we were in person.

Brother, I do understand the discontent. But there is a distinction between policy makers and the 'tools' of their policy. Unfortunately the uneducated often see one as the same. There are many proud Russians who laid down their lives in defence of Russia who were not Stalinist nor Communist, same time there were serving professional soilders of the Heer who were unfortunately present prior when the National Socialists gained control of Germany. We have made peace with the expansionists of Japan yet our forced campaign in the Dardenells against Gernany's ally which drew resources away from the Eastern front in WWI is seen as an invasion along the likes of false flag operations in Indo China. Walk the footsteps of a professional soilder, sailor, airmen and you would know the conflict in their hearts, minds, families and too often killed them.

I've quoted you but this is not directed at sorry, just a hijack.

So because ANZAC is about fallen diggers you win? OP in original thread said "ANZAC day myths" which is demonstrably true: there are many ANZAC Day myths. It is no disrespect to fallen Australian soldiers to say "in 2015 there are tools who have no idea what this day is about". There are myths about Simpson and his donkey, myths about "we nearly won", myths about Englishmen sipping tea while the brave Aussies did the dying. I've had a fool tell me "the ANZACs faced a machine gun every six feet it was a solid wall of metal!" and that sort of ignorant myth making is sickening.

I say ANZAC Day is when we remember dead soldiers and why they died. If you want to pull down the curtain and just glorify death good luck to you, I think you've been sucked in by the weet bix version of history. If you don't know why they died, you can't really understand that part of Australian identity.

I honour the dead soldiers in my family, and respect the memory of the ANZACs on their day. Wrapping yourself in the flag doesn't hide the fact you misunderstood the OP and have been shooting your mouth off since.

OMG incredible win against a team that everyone thought was going to be top 8 this year. Did we even have any rotations left at the end? Doubled Brisbane's score and all the Suns players are finally buying in to Rocket's game plan now. No Ablett! No Malceski! No Russell! No Swallow! I can't see us losing another game this year once we overcome all these injuries. Just amazing.
