HiLux dominate mine sites so that's probably the majority of their sales.
In know that BMA (BHP / Mitsubishi) in QLD swapped from HiLux to Ranger when BHP introduced their mandatory 5 Star ANCAP rating policy a few years back and the 3.0 Hilux was only rated at 4 Star rating. They didn't use the Rangers for long, they thought they were pieces of shit so they switched over to Isuzu M-UXs.
Rangers would be selling to the tradies I'd reckon due to a slick advertising campaign just like Jeep have. The Ranger is a decidedly ordinary vehicle and Jeep just have that reputation that you're a better chance of getting a lemon than with other vehicles and their after market service is particularly woeful.
