I question how many games he'll play though. Wonder if he can play out the season or carrying that body around all year takes a toll early. He's alright, but I'm a big fan of Collins. I think he's ready to slot straight in.

He will be early on, given the interrupted pre-season. I'd hope by mid season he has built his tank enough to go in the middle, and hopefully peak august/september.I'm only in favour of playing Bontempelli up forward if he's limited physically.
He's just too good in the middle to play anywhere else, otherwise.
With Crameri out, I can see us rotating our bigger bodied mids heavily through the forward line, with Bont, Wallis, Stevens and Jong (when in the team) all getting extended runs forward as part of their rotations.
Yeah or we can just play Bont there... With Libba and Koby back and Jongs continual evolution the mid field is covered and Bontys lack of a pre-season mesns he can play forward and kick us 30ish..
He didn't break even with Goldy, he towelled him upWill have a crack. Havn't followed this thread too closely so I apologise if I do a similar team to someone else. I'm going to pick the side I think will line up in Rd 1, I expect it to evolve as the season goes on (i.e Collins getting a few reserves runs first and Dale further developing)
B: Easton Wood, Fletcher Roberts*, Dale Morris
CHB: Robert Murphy, Joel Hamling*, Matthew Boyd
C: Jason Johannisen, Tom Liberatore, Jack Macrae
HF: Luke Dahlhaus, Jack Redpath, Lachie Hunter
FF: Tory Dickson, Tom Boyd, Jake Stringer
Foll: Jordan Roughead^, Marcus Bontempelli, Mitch Wallis
IC: Liam Picken, Toby Mclean, Matt Suckling, Shane Biggs#
Emer: Koby Stevens, Bailey Dale, Caleb Daniel
* I think Roberts/ Hamling will get the first crack, with Collins to come in soon. With Morris & Wood there also although undersized I think with the way we play we have enough 'tall' options to cover any threats (especially vs fremantle)
# With the way the game will evolve I expect the defenders will stay on the ground longer, meaning that most mids will need to spend time forward and vice versa. The 3 on the bench can rotate through the positions. However I felt we were one running def short so Shane Biggs gets the nod for me to rotate with the back 6, he had an underrated end to 2015.
^ Roughead is much maligned on bigfooty, but I rewatched the game vs North Melbourne the other day and he basically broke even with Goldstein (who was dominating in the weeks prior), including an important first qr goal (our only one). This toll of this game probably cost him his body for the Lions game and the final. If he can get his body right, I see him as the most versatile ruckman we have. Redpath/Boyd to give him chop outs, I expect both to play now that Crameri is out.
Let me know what you think.

That's a pretty good looking side for mine - only questions are the ruck issue (Minson or Roughy) and whether we play both Boyd & Redpath in the same side. If we don't Stevens comes in, otherwise Biggs might make way for Stevens anyway. Certainly a good problem to have.B: Easton Wood, Fletcher Roberts*, Dale Morris

My best guess is we'll elevate Adcock and bank the other upgrade, seeing as Roarke Smith is injured and both Lynch and Goetz are unlikely to be needed.Sorry you blokes only my 2nd post only allowed to reply at the moment unable to start my own blog but I want to ask a question about rookie players now that Cramers is out. My question is are we going to take 2 from our rookie list for Smith also.
Doesn't have enough endurance. Next season he should be good but doubt he gets more than 2 games.Would Josh Dunkley's name be put up for contention if the taller mids like Bont play forward?
Hasn't he been playing senior football since like 15? Surely his endurance can't be THAT bad. Would think he gets more than 2 games tbh.Doesn't have enough endurance. Next season he should be good but doubt he gets more than 2 games.
Yes mainly as a half forward, low possession tally but sound in hisDid Dunks play a fair few games for Richmond at VFL level?
The lack of rotations this year would make taking him into a game more difficult than last year.Hasn't he been playing senior football since like 15? Surely his endurance can't be THAT bad. Would think he gets more than 2 games tbh.
The best part of that is how small the decrease in his efficiency stats are even though he's drastically improved his work around the contest. Wins a lot more contested ball but responded with only a mild decrease in kick-to-handball ratio and disposal efficiency. You expect to see a decrease somewhat proportionate to the difference in UP: DP ratio but those drops are miniscule in comparison.Dannnnnnnnnn. Thought you might find these stats interesting after we were talking about Macrae going from outside player to more of an inside role last season.
Macrae 2014:
Clearances 2.2, Tackles 4.1, Contested Possessions 7.9 (29.4%), K:H 53.7% Kicks, D/E 73.1%
Macrae 2015:
Clearances 4.5, Tackles 5.6, Contested Possessions 10.4 (39.4%), K:H 51.8% Kicks, D/E 69.9%
