Now that is a good first seven hopfully coughlan is playing if not u can always chose possibly cousins or the forgotten paul haslbey

My First 5 will be backman, a good backline makes the difference of averaging 2200 instead of 2000.

S Fisher
Newman
Gilbee
C Cornes
Hodge ( if named back)

Next 2 to make up 7 will be :

Cox
Bartel

As I am a Hodge fan I won't be touching him at the start, he will be nearly more than Ablett which is ridiculous especially when you take into consideration the magic number. Jump on the Hodge bandwagon when he loses a few bucks.

If he continues his role at the back, he could be tagged out of a game completely, and his price could take a hit early..

He's nearly the price of Ablett cause he nearly averaged the same as him. ;)

In general, you get what you pay for, and Hodge has had a ripper year...

(That said, he does have a tendency to miss games for various reasons... not the kind of thing you want in a premium)

Fisher - Back
Cornes - Back
Cox
Judd
Wait - Back
Gibbs - Back
Hodge - Back

At the moment im thinking i want as strong a backline to start the season as possible.

Gibbs and Hodge in the backline = everyones backline in the the whole supercoach comp throughout Australia having at least two of the same players in their backlines! :D:thumbsu:

Oh wait, forgot about some of the "special" people out there that will probably have duds like nathan caroll and toby thurstans instead! LMFAO! :p

You need to get out more if you're laughing your arse off at that.

nah, Hodgy is too expensive... Specially with his tendencies to get injured and suspended...

He's missed 6 games in the last four years.

In all seriousness, anyone put of him as he plays swans twice at the start of the season?

Hodge has averaged 104 against the Swans in that same 4 year period. The 'Sydney effect' is not as pronounced in SC as it is in DT. In fact, if anything, I'd wager it is actually reversed (more stoppages = more clearance, more one percenters, more tackles, etc, etc).

Have I missed something or is Hodge definitely going to be listed as a back? Gibbs as a back would be nice but unlikely.

If Hodge is a back then he is a similar conundrum as Cox. Both would be a long way ahead of everyone in their class making them hard to ignore.

Naming 7 is a bit of a stretch for me at this stage so will settle for the following:

Cornes
Cox
Rich

For me the backs, mids & rucks will fall into place pretty easily but looking at the forwards they look absolutely barren.

The premiums (over $500K) all smell risky other than Riewolt & Pav who seem a touch overpriced but may have to have one. Between 250-500 it just seems devoid of an instant selection - Lucas maybe but still presents a lot of question marks. There is quite a lot of value gets under $250 but you cannot have too many of these gambles in at once......or can you?

Agree....unfortunately.

Alternatively, there is a reasonable chance that Carrazzo couild be listed as a DEF option. If so he will be one of my first choices. Played 22 games and averaged >97. 2047 points last year puts him at number 7 against all 08 defenders. :thumbsu:

Here's hoping.
