Prediction The future of Fasolo

It will be hard to keep up with the current 22. We have got by so far but the current 22 lacks natural goalkicker. That will only work for a short while.

Yes we need multiple goalkicking options but some of them need to be higher yielding. Of the 64 teams that played finals between 2010-17 I think only two have not had a 40+ goalkicker. It can be done but at the moment our goalkicking avenues are weak and no one looks about to stand up and address that bar Elliott and Fasolo..

If our goalkicking avenues are weak that suggests a deap seated issue we need to address.. relying on Fasolo is not the answer.

Trade him. Injury prone and has decent market value.

I like fasolo. Should be in our 22 but if we continue not to play him, then he likely wont be with us next seaaon.

Good player.
Not an Elliott.
But if Fasolo is on, fit, he can do the needed things, translation, he kicks goals.

I think you are jumping to conclusions a little, which I guess is what this whole forum is about but he has had mental health issues...I don’t think it’s fair to say he’s on the outer. I think he’s very much in Buckley’s plans, it might be that at the moment he isn’t quite there yet.

Expect him to come in for Anzac Day, he loves a big Occassion.

If he gets traded and hasn’t played all year don’t expect much for him. The club won’t hold back a player with mental health issues from moving home or into another club for a fresh start.

If he’s fit and firing by seasons end an early second rounder is fair. He can play back, forward, midfield...he’s quick, smart, skilful and hard. A complete player
I'll happily jump to another conclusion... Bucks clearly rates Crocker and his attitude over Faz, whilst Elliott is still due back, Stephenson has leapt ahead of him, and Murphy could also play the third tall forward role... and is on a steep learning curve. So I could easily see Faz delisted at year end, as both west coast clubs would know that they could get him for free.

Bucks is all about people who desperately want to be part of the program... so if he doesn't, bye bye

It's premature at this stage to ponder his future with us, he might be in the side doing his bit by round 10.

When he's ON we're better plus he's a free agent next year.

Agree with you there.. trade him for a 2nd rounder.
Free agent , can go where he wants, won't likely attract much compo as wouldn't get a big contract.

Correct, biggest problem our list has and probably the reason why we miss the finals if that happens.

FFS.. I don't know anything about players contract statuses. Where's the list re?
Come on Gimp, we rely on your intuition and in built nous.
I just assume you know all this stuff.

It's not all that bad.. if we somehow land Lynch.. but we don't have him..

Absolutely love De Goey floating around that half forward position though.. and at times running through the guts with his sublime touch. That kick to Stephenson when he was running through the guts was poetry in motion re.

We can spread the talent across the park.. including the forward line rather than over loading our midfield with the best.

I rate Phillips and Thomas in there.. underrated.

is his spot essentially been taken by one of treloar/pendlebury/sidebottom when they move forward?

still believe he can play a large roll in our season, he will get his chance at some stage and hold onto his spot.

I've got a feeling that Fas will still have a 25-35 goal season with a few bags of 4-5 goals and then 1-2 goals the rest of the way.

That will make him an attractive prospect and he does bring a point of difference as a small forward who plays tall and is a good lead up option who can kick a goal from anywhere out to 55m - this would be a great foil for a lot of teams where the key forward(s) are zoned off on a lot.

Was an interesting stat on last week's game that Fas is our biggest goal kicker for the last 2-3 years.

Trade? on the outer? Rubbish, we wouldn't be putting so much work into him if that were the case.

Fas is a confidence player, but it looks like the club has put more work into him so his highs/lows aren't so extreme and he can be a consistent contributor.

I'd pencil him in for Tigers after a solid hit-out this weekend. Then watch him improve our forward line to another level. He's strong in the air and just so smart off the deck.

He’s out of contract and appears on the outer. Whilst he will probably get a chance soon with the congested fixture, he will have to play very well to retain a spot in the senior team.

Seems to me that a move back to WA is on the cards.

With that in mind, what’s a fair trade? Personally, I think a 2nd pick in this years draft should get the deal done.
DeGoey and now Fasolo! Is there no end to your pessimism about our players?
Think you are right on Faz. He suddenly has much more competition. Pivotal year for Faz I reckon. Needs to stay injury free! West Coast might like him as a ready made Lecras replacement.

Bucks is all about people who desperately want to be part of the program... so if he doesn't, bye bye

Hence why we have been waiting for success for the last 7 years, maybe he needs to adapt more readily to the players he has with ability like Clarkson does at Hawthorn instead of making it all about himself, Fasolo is best 22 by a mile over Crocker the shocker

Obviously with his injury and subsequent disrupted preseason, he's going through some form of mini preseason albeit with the luxury of playing games for match fitness rather than just running laps at training.

There's been a little bit of talk about his forward pressure being lacklustre, which it potentially had been at times, but if he sets this as a goal, the only way he'll be able to hit KPIs over four quarters in the AFL is if he only comes in when he's completely ready to go.

Not sure where he is at currently but I suspect pending his performance tomorrow that he'll be one of the players in the mix to play Richmond. It's up to him to maintain his spot in the side thereafter.

If he has made his intention to leave known, it would explain his continued omission from the side

As would his inability to deliver what the coaches are asking of him.

How about we see how the season unfolds before getting too far ahead of ourselves. He remains our 2nd best avenue to goal on past performances and I'd imagine he'll force his way back into the senior team sooner rather than later.
