The mail is a straight swap.

Two undeniably talented players with youth on the side who could benefit from a change of scenery.

Vezspremi gives North the kid of pace and outside skill we lack. Could see him responding to Scott well and also enjoying being part of a group of blokes of similar age coming through together and very soon playing regular finals.

Super Gav would undoubtedly be a weapon on the smaller SCG, with his long and accurate kicking. Has shown he can play good footy at senior level – a Rising Star nom attests to that. Question is whether he’s now in danger of being edged out at North – Liam Anthony and Bastinac are ahead of him for spots on the wing and Jamie MacMillan would appear to have overtaken him in a defensive role.

Would be a good trade IMO.

Thoughts?

Urqhart is a very dumb footballer who butchers the ball, Sydney would be silly to do that trade.

IMO Gav has played his best footy as a wingman. Kicks goals in the VFL.

I agree his ball use can be iffy but I'd put much of that down to him trying to do 'too much'.

Certainly Laidley had him under instruction to try and use his long kicking to go over zones.

Even if the deal doesn't happen - I'll be happy to have him still at North.

We have a growing shortage of half-back flankers, with none of Shaw/Mattner/Malceski/Kennelly establishing themselves in the senior side. Whereas we're overflowing with super talented small forwards like Paul Bevan, Jarred Moore and... well, those 2. But they're really awesome.

No disrespect to Urquhart who has shown patches of excellent form, but I could not give more of a  to this trade

I see where you are coming from but the guys bolded are getting on ...

If Malceski is "getting on", more than half the senior experienced players in the league should start planning for their retirements.

We also have a handful of unestablished young players whose best position in the future looks to be HBF. They may or may not make it but it is not as if the club has ignored the fact that some of its existing HBFers will retire within the next 3 or 4 years. Plus finding an adequate HBFer is one of the less tricky recruitment tasks. (Finding a top shelf one is tougher, but OK ones are relatively plentiful.)

Fair point on Malceski. Spose I was referring to his injury.

As I said above, I reckon Gav would be far more effective for your guys playing as a wingman.

Hasn't he met with the Bulldogs already? Mentioned on the rumour thread that the meeting went well.

Third deal that's apparently close to being done. As for the "straight from the horse's mouth" on our board, that was only swans16 saying he'd heard Veszpremi saying it with nothing else. I'm taking that with as much salt as I'm taking the Vesz is almost gone to North / Bulldogs / Richmond / Carlton talk.

I think the most like outcome for Veszpremi is that he'll head to the bulldogs in a deal with the Swannies for Everitt.

Is Veszpremi even going to be traded?

However, I like the sound of that deal, Veszpremi for Everitt, if Veszpremi wants a trade.

How About

Veszpremi to Carlton
Sherman To Sydney
Grigg to Brisbane

Any Takers??

Don't you think you should start making the finals before you start talking about making regular finals apperances????
