*en oath, I loved the original (in its D grade glory) and this one will be fun.

I honestly aren't sure why Conor isn't just going for freak show fights at this point, surely Jake Paul in a boxing match would be a great target. Not sure of the status of his UFC contract but a fight like that would be gigantic, would be enough money for everyone like the Mayweather one.
One word

EGO

guy spends all day on twitter craving attention and the buzz being the man brings. He still thinks he's the best fighter in the world in his head no doubt at all

Can't risk losing those too...

Right and Conor's been fighting who in the last 7 years? Lol
I see your point - but Nate looked pretty terrible in his last three outings, even though his last (MMA) fight was a win against the ghost of Tony Ferguson. Conor may be a coked up alcoholic - but I think his athleticism is still there. They might only be 3 years apart, but there's a big difference athletically between 35 and 38.

Yeah but one of them is a marathon running cardio monster. The other took roids and partied on a boat

Diaz has been obviously gassed in his last 3 outings. I like Diaz, but father time comes for us all - and it's clearly come for him.

I'm not defending diaz really though, I just think the only reason anyone thinks Conor can do anything is cause he does nothing lol

To me the big question with Conor (aside from how bad has the coke and booze hit him) is how much will his new size impact his speed.

Rare to see guys with both and getting older and stockier rarely helps with speed.

I think this is key, even more than the cardio factor. Conor never had elite cardio. What made him great were his reflexes and accuracy. Lugging around all that mass makes him a completely different fighter.

I genuinely can't work out if Conor Chandler is gonna be dropped as a big surprise on a PPV card or at a press conference in the same way they did the Brock Lesnar drop or if Conor's never actually gonna fight again and they are using his name for attention for the cards

Sounds like the Tomato has you right where he wants you.

I used to always use the Joanna vs Weili argument when defending WMMA to my mates. The fight was 4 years ago though.. How many of these "worst" fights have we had to endure since then?

Excellent point.

What happens if people are still referring to that fight to defend WMMA in another two or three years?

Not a good look.

I think there's arguments over Conors contract. he 'retired' but his same terms carry on as long as the retirement does and he has 2 years left

He wants to renegotiate but UFC aren't willing to pay the mega bucks he wants. He's dropped hints about Saudi repeatedly, even Manyy Pac name drops but who really needs to see that

I think Saudi are going to prop up his contract to get his fight there and he won't be at UFC300 which leaves them scrambling for a real main event at this point

Dana has just said all he's been working on is UFC 300 the last few weeks, apparently still some big possibilities. I don't doubt it, they're certainly trying to make it a huge card, I'm happy to see a fun fight like a comeback or something on the main card.

I can't think of another fight worthy of 300 tbh. Unless you're dusting off Brock, Rousey, or Jones is ready

Yeah fair enough, I dunno, sounds like there's something up his sleeve. Pereira v Izzy to me was the obvious one, I don't know why they didn't just do that.
Periera vs Izzy is a 300 fight for the hardcores, same with Izzy Dricus.

Doesn't have the appeal for the wider audience of casuals.

The only guys who could do it for the casuals and non fans are Conor, Ngannou, Rousey and Brock. Don't think the rest are big enough.

The main card for 300 is already PPV worthy imo, on paper it looks better than some of the others from the past year or so.

If they can secure one more big fight for the top of the card then they'll have done enough.

Any fight featuring Conor or Ronda would make it 300 worthy, whether you're a casual or otherwise.

Izzy vs 🗿, or 🗿 vs DDP, or DDP vs Izzy, would be epic.

The only plausible scenario which could top it would be a Conor return where the news is scooped by

Yeah you're probably right, I mean to me it's the biggest fight the UFC can put on right now, well one that will happen anyway. I'm sure they're counting on someone with mainstream recognition, Conor really the only one they could put on right now.

Agreed. Pereira vs Izzy for the LHW belt. That's pretty damn juicy. With no Jones or Conor, it's pretty much as big as it gets.

Poatan v Hill is the only one I would want from what's available
DDP just fought and would hate to see him forced into a disadvantage off such a sort turnaround
Izzy has lost 2 of his last 3, shouldn't be in a title fight next regardless of being a star
Poatan V Aspinall would likely be a 45 second submission and doesn't interest me at all
Leon Belal is a nice fight night headliner
Conor v chandler should headline the new Juice Olympics that have been announced

I'm a Hill fan, and I'm also pretty confident he finds a KO vs Pereira. But, for UFC 300 Hill might struggle. It's pretty simple...
Instagram followers:
Izzy - 8.6M
Hill - 329K

Izzy is 24 - 3. Had the TKO loss to Periera Nov 2022, then had the KO win over Pereira April 2023, then had the ordinary loss (decision) vs Strickland September 2023.
Imo he's very worthy of the shot at LHW vs Pereira on 300.

Other than it being Poatan Izzy absolutely doesn't deserve the shot. He's already had one and lost comfortably.

His 3 losses have been in his last 6 fights

Oh.. so you're not about the casuals now?
It's gotta be juicy for 300.
Hill "deserves" it, but does he have the popularity?
Who do you suggest? Colby vs Edwards?
