Absolutely.

This final should have been held in Perth. Unfair advantage to Hawthron clearly.

When the new stadium is ready, if West or Freo finish first and make into the grand final it should be held there.

It is a national competition now. It is time to bury the last relic of the VFL once and for all

If it's at the mcg and the top side is from interstate, the traveling side should have 70% of the club seating allocation to at least create a home ground atmosphere. When it's 50-50 a lot of the neutral seating gets snapped up by the Victorian side creating a very large home ground advantage

A quick survey of grand finals contested between one Vic and one interstate team. Here are the winning years:

Vic: 91, 96, 07, 13, 14, 15

Interstate: 92, 94, 97, 98, 01, 02, 03, 12

So overall there are 8 interstate wins vs 6 vic wins.

Seemingly not a problem.

And?

Still doesn't address the unfair advantage Victorian teams have.

The last 3 finals, an MCG tenant vs a non MCG tenant has resulted in 3 comfortable wins to the team that has played at the MCG the most. That is not equalisation.

Yep, West Coast would have been smashed at Subi today as well.

...and the records show that the advantage, which you would expect to exist, does nothing.

So? That doesn't prove there isn't an unfair advantage.

Also, you're generalizing victoria. The teams who get the advantage are those whose home ground is at the MCG: Melbourne, Hawthorn, Collingwood, Richmond.

Why hasn't anyone argued the other point I made in the OP? If you insist on the romance of having every Grand Final at the MCG, why not force other teams to adopt different home grounds? Similar to Wembley in the UK; biggest stadium by far, hosts every final, but the FA doesn't let anyone use it as a home ground, at least not permanently.

Great idea. Everyone, off the MCG!

In fact, let's convert it to a soccer stadium.
