We're actually going great guns at the moment. Buddy will be back in full training in a few weeks (if you read the article and not the title... which I highly doubt) and Burgoyne is just about ready to start full training with no discomfort.

Croad is the only guy on our list to worry about but we've got depth in to cover him this year, so no excuses if we don't make finals this year.

For the Dogs though, if you fail to make the finals it'll mean that you're over the hill and your window is closed. I know which position I'd rather be in :D

from The Pelican....."Burgoyne's knee is rooted & he didn't tell us".

Good luck with that, Geppetto.

Interesting thread.

Incidentally, what will the Western Bulldogs excuse for bombing out of the 2010 finals be?

"Too many washed-up old hacks" would be my first suggestion.
Something along the lines of "Well, we've been one man down, ever since Barry killed a guy in round 2....it's taken it's toll on the whole playing group."

Let's face it - the Dawks only have two good players in Buddy and Hodge. Buddy has the IQ of a watermelon and is always in for "minor surgery" and Hodge is...well a fat **** who reportedly can eat his own weight in KFC in less than an hour. No mean feat considering he weighs close to 150kg. The rest are plodding Bradbury's, spuds, flogs and never-has-beens. Will fail to make the eight again.

that's a given, but what injury excuse will they trott out?

Expect to see the below image on a particularly regular basis (like every stoppage or every time the ball is down the other end of the ground) when the going gets tough.

He'll stay on the ground having no impact on the game despite being in hideous pain (as far as we know) because he's just that tough. Rinse and repeat every game till round 22.

By all means, expect that. With all your hearts.

07 was a very boring game to watch port were not ready for it they were very lucky to even get there and that comes from a couple of port members i know !
