The Hunt for New Chief Executive

Brett Duncanson on 5AA this morning said the new CE would be expected to have a strong corporate background and expertise in attracting new business support. Duncanson's said this was more important than a football background as their view is Peter Rohde does a good job of that side of the business.

I must admit I didn't know it was in our hands. I thought I heard when Mark's resignation was still a rumour that the AFL were putting someone in.

doesn't really hose down the Keith Thomas rumours. He was DMG's Group Sales Director, basically getting Nova (and GM @ 5AA) into commercial players, attracting sponsorship, air-time etc.

he's been out of football long enough to not be on that radar, the game has passed him by and he's relly just a businessman now

The press release from the PAFC co-signed by Haysman and Duncanson states there will be an exhaustive selection process in collaboration with the SANFL and AFL.

Mark will stay with the Club at least until the end of July. The Club will work with the SANFL and the AFL in an exhaustive search to find Port Adelaide’s next Chief Executive Officer.

Thank you all for your loyalty and support.

Yours truly,

Mark Haysman Brett Duncanson
Chief Executive Officer President

Then Keith Thomas will be chosen. ;):p

Now there's someone we could've gotten rid of. Haysman goes and Rhode stays? Not happy.

Kevin Foley's big chance for a career outside politics. ;) If anyone would have business contacts he would.

Don't worry, if Keith Thomas doesn't get it, it means the Port side of the board has won and we'll appoint one of our failed assistant coaches to the job.

Looks like there will be a caretaker CEO until the exhaustive selection process is complete. John Lyons might yet get his chance. And we know how Port love their caretakers ...

PORT Adelaide, the SANFL and the AFL are coming close to finalising a decision on an interim chief executive for Mark Haysman, who will leave Port Adelaide in four weeks. The footballing bodies do not expect to fill the position before Haysman leaves and do not want to add time pressure to the selection process.
