Re: The Injury Thread - Your guess is as good as ours!

I am loving the look of our injury list atm, as long as it is.
It seems that we have players lining up week after week for comebacks of if in the event that we sustain injuries during matches we have someone suitable ready to go the next week.
If we can sustain our key players (for me its Watson, Hocking, Ryder and Fletcher) for the remaining games then we will go a long way come finals.

Fingers, toes, legs, arms, eyes and testicles crossed!

Re: The Injury Thread - Your guess is as good as ours!

Robson and Evans spoke at half time of the west coast game. Not a lot was said other than spruiking the flight plan [donate] as the club expected to be closer to the 3million by now, disappointment that we didn't get State funding for the new facility after 18 months planning, next year there will be no affiliation with Bendigo but we will have a stand alone reserves team, the AFL paid for that band that played at half time not Essendon.
During question time, a couple of injuries were asked about.
Gumbleton is ready to go and would've played this weekend had Bendigo not had the bye. He will be playing next week at Victoria Park against Collingwood. So won't be AFL-ready for a few more weeks, but is apparently "bigger, stronger and has a better core strength" Fitness will be the biggest thing as he has "learned the game plan".
Winderlich is worthy of best 22, but apparently tore his hamstring where they took a graft for his knee reco. This is pretty common in knee recos. Won't be back until the second half of the season type thing. I had heard different from a different source, that this is what had happened to prismall but the other hamstrings at Essendon had been all unrelated. Regardless, Pris and Winers are both only back 2nd half of season.
Hurley they're being overly cautious with, will play next week.
Pears ready to go next week
Haven't heard much on Hille, but it would be hardly worth rushing him back with 2 in form ruckmen.
McVeigh is fit
Hibberd going okay after pretty clean tear. Your guess as good as mine as to when he returns. Anyone know more on him?

Injury list down to 4! :thumbsu:

Michael Hibberd (Hamstring) ... 1-2 weeks
Michael is likely to miss this weekend's clash against Richmond but is a chance to return the following week after sustaining a hamstring strain.

Jason Winderlich (Hamstring) ... Test
Jason has suffered a torn hamstring following his rehabilitation with his ACL injury last year. He will closely monitored by the medical staff but will undertake a modified training program.

David Hille (Calf) ... 1-2 weeks
David is progressing well with his rehabilitation program after straining his soleus muscle. He has been ruled out of this week and will be closely monitored by the medical staff in the coming weeks.

Brent Prismall (Knee) ... Test
Brent is progressing well after surgery on his ruptured anterior cruciate ligament. He has been placed on the club's long-term injury list.

Re: The Injury Thread - Your guess is as good as ours!

If everything goes right from here he'll be playing footy just after the bye. Far from season over.

1) He has too stay injury free.
2) Has to find form
3) Assuming 1 and 2 - He then needs an injury.

Spoke to some of our injured guys today..

Lee will be back next week from an Achilles injury.
O'Brien is 3 - 4 weeks away
Davis is 1 - 2 away from a return from his ankle injury
Myers could have played (VFL) today, but (Essendon) opted to rest him for this week (and next due to the VFL state game)
