Picked up the Alpine Chalet set this morning - passing by the store they had a cool little maze game GWP which only had a $240 purchase threshold. I think the same GWP is also available at lego.com.

It seems there may also be double points next week (10&11 Oct) to coincide with Amazon's next deal days offers.

Made it to bag 21 (second last bag) before a fatal error, attempted to re-adjust one arm and to fix the adjustment I tried to adjust (made it worse = re: the bit the arm connects to on the torso needs to be placed back in) to do that I have to undo about 20+ hours worth of progress lol. My game plan is to complete it minus one arm then go back each step to fix it again. There are some parts of the later stages that I can leave "connected" so I won't have to rebuild... just re-attach them once the base is fixed. Been a fun yet frustrating at times build so far.

Photos will eventually be posted of most bag progress.

I do giggle at the commentary about the floor's of posters :p. When I started building Lego again, I used my kitchen bench...... didn't take long (maybe an hour) before I decided it was a bad idea as spreading everything around on a confined space was a recipe for disaster (re: a few did fall off and took forever to find again... and that's with a light coloured tile floor lol). I throw a white towel on my lounge room carpet and start building like I'm 5 years old again :p

Lego "The Mighty Bowser" - a work in progress (will post the finished product eventually in weeks/months from now ? :p

I did take pictures at the end of every bag but progress did get a bit muddled up, alas here are some of the pictures I've taken of the rest of the build

Bag 10-11 - one cheek side is wrong in this image, I rotated and corrected the piece today haha.
Legs start to get worked on from Bag 10, Face from Bag 14

Bag 16ish - What's interesting here is that the back was largely done early on (Bag 5+ range), Bag 16 puts the finishing touches - essentially the rest of the white pipe border before you bulid the shell from Bag 17 - 19. Amusing build fail on my part, from the earlier bags and the pipe border being in complete, I noticed it wasn't staying on so I left it off until I got to this point where the pipe's circlular border was finally complete. Then I saw how it was meant to stay together on the back of the body!

Bowser Bag 17, 18, 19 - The shell. Not done 1:1 to scale sadly :( I see where I went wrong and it's doing the white pipe border a little too perfectly without the curves at the top haha.

Bowser Incomplete - Will unbuild and rebuild him sometime soon. Until then, Mario/Luigi took the kidnapping of the Princess a little too personal and decided to chop off Bowser's arms!!

Bowser got his arms reattached and (fireball in mouth aside lol) I consider Bowser complete now

EVVUEFE.png

That was easier than I expected it to be, once I took off a few other bricks (along with the others that originally popped off when I yanked the gizmo that held the arm into place), just had to rotate that gizmo around the correct way, re-bricked the bricks around the side, attached the arms and Bob's your uncle.

On to the next Lego adventure (Captain America shield ? or Spider-man canvas ??)

How do you guys display your bigger sets with open back. For example that Haunted house?
Like, we built the Disney Castle 100 year, and you miss all the detail of the inside rooms from behind view when you sit it on a display, being such a big display piece. Feels like i need to sit it on the kitchen table lol, get rid of the fruit bowl

Tough one. I've done exactly that (kitchen table) with some, but that's obviously short term. Diagon Alley is an obvious case here, mine just sits on the floor and gets moved when you want to see the open back. Disney Castle sat in a corner where you could kinda see the interior from the side.

Probably the only satisfactory answer is on a shelf as a room divider, or on a turntable display.

Am seeing him at Harvest Rock. Hope he plays Soul Sucking Freak
Mellow Gold was like soundtrack for a couple of years in the 90s. I saw him on the "second" stage at Summersault which was basically the back of a flat bed truck in the car park of the Entertainment Centre, great show, terrible venue.
