Eddie Howe is saying he is happy at Newcastle as long as he is "happy and feels supported". There have been a few changes in the off season. Amanda Staveley and Mehrdad Ghodoussi have both left. Staveley played a big role in appointing Howe back in November 2021. Paul Mitchell has replaced Dan Ashworth as Sporting Director. It seems he will be in charge of transfers. Howe might be leveraging a potential offer from England to retain more power at Newcastle.
Jason Tindall as Assistant Manager for England would be something.

He's going to have a really good rounded education as a coach/manager. Hasn't really worked out for him yet but I can see him making a success of things.
Speaks really well about football.

And even then I'd argue it 'worked out' pretty well for him last season - he was nominated for manager of the season, took a side that finished 15th to 7th while transforming the squad, and it's just the impatience of the owner that counted against him, not necessarily anything he did wrong.

Surprised to read Gustavsson spent a lot of his time at home in Sweden and relied on assistants to scout talent. Surely we’re past this and arrange for next coach to live here

He's had success with the England youth teams, some of whom have gone on to the full team. But he's got no real experience coaching senior players. Howe and Potter would still be favourites for the job.
