The Eagles and West Coast media use “mental health concerns”to shield their players from the consequences of their actions (Rioli, Ryan etc) and yet when Jesse Hogan, a young guy who’s lost his father to cancer and immediately faced his own cancer battle (too much for most adults let alone a 20 year old kid) after being uprooted from his family at 17 years old, was absolutely brutalised by the West media for having too much to drink before a pre season training session. A two page spread of his supposed indiscipline and a 3 year old photo with his pants down. The slightest indiscretion from anyone associated with Fremantle brings down a sh*t storm of criticism and media humiliation. Mental health issues seem only to apply to Eagles personnel. I’ll say it again, The West are social media bully’s masquerading as journalists. There is not a drop of credibility or professionalism at that tabloid and any person or business that support Fremantle need to boycott that sham of a newspaper.

Made to feel sorry for their fallen heroes yet Hogan, Bennell, Hill, MJ are made to feel like their the scum of the earth and lucky to even be professional footballers

Nice highlights vid on AFL site of Fyfe's Brownlow year. Someone better techwise than me can share on here if they want.

Really shows that while he might be in close company with the other clearance specialist mids at the top of the Brownlow table, in extracting the ball, creating clearances, finding his own ball, and kicking his own goals too, none of them are in the same class aerially. It's a good reminder. Two marks over Dusty's head show he doesn't compete in the same class as Fyfe when the ball is above about 2m.

This article is a few years old but really shows what an outlier Fyfe is as a midfielder aerially. Would love to see updated stats.

I would love for us to have Kelly, Angus etc so that Fyfe can go forward just like Dangerfield does. He's surprisingly effective overhead, even though he doesn't have a big leap. 6 goals vs Hawthorn. Fyfe can do that too. Don't want to be relying on Fyfe's bash and crash, handball it off clearance style. He won't last long term

I think your underselling Fyfe's explosiveness there. He's not as quick as Danger sure but he's quick enough and strong enough to get decent separation on all but the very best key defenders in a one on one.

Listening to Hagdorn trying to wiggle out of the question as to why Sumich was overlooked by WC and Essendon. Hagdorn statement that Sumich would lead Freo to the golden chalice but Longmuir wouldn't and not signing Sumich is a mistake the club will never recover from .
