Idk Nathan Jones is a great leader and stands up in every game he plays, but that's three games against Essendon plus games against Carlton and the Saints where his teammates have looked flat and uninspired. Why aren't they coming out during from the openin bounce to play for him?

Napalm to the Coaches at the MFC, if this is Goodwins game plan then we are ****ed
We play into the oppositions hands, they drop numbers back while we do the full press.. wait for us to bomb it long and then counter attack with free numbers over the back of a slow midfield.. all of our speed is in the F50 which is no good if the opposition kicks it out and leaves Jones, Brayshaw, Tyson, Oliver, VDB, Bugg, Salem etc who arent slow but arent quick either to chase small blokes around an open MCG ... our game plan is better suited to Etihad stadium not the MCG
Im not sure what we are trying to achieve because quick ball movement means nothing if you clog your own forward line up, we need to be flooding the midfield and leaving combinations of Watts/Hogan/Pedo with Garlett/Kent/Kennedy so that we can hit up targets


Also here is proof of how horrible out forward structure is at the moment and why the coaches need to come together and realise our game plan is incredibly flawed

Thats not effort or anything, that is a systematic failure of our forward half which isnt player related its poor coaching
We should have learnt against GWS when we cleared everyone out and put Kennedy and Garlett into the midfield and left Hogan and Watts to beat their opponents on merits

Guess we have to hope that it's Roos' gameplay that will soon be replaced. Goodwin was coaching in the NAB cup and things looked a lot more positive then. There's every reason to think that Goodwin is still playing understudy to Roos - and that might mean biting his tongue even when he thinks Roos is being stupid and stubborn.

Guess we have to hope that it's Roos' gameplay that will soon be replaced. Goodwin was coaching in the NAB cup and things looked a lot more positive then. There's every reason to think that Goodwin is still playing understudy to Roos - and that might mean biting his tongue even when he thinks Roos is being stupid and stubborn.

Teams werent clogging our forward half in the NAB they were playing us on our merits, all we did was give oppo analysts 3 weeks to devise a counter strategy to us

True, and if you remember back, Alastair Clarkson always had a major dickhead vibe about him too (as a player and as a coach). It's only because he turned out to be a good coach that people revised their idea of him to be a sort of mad genius.

Neil Craig said the best captain he had at Adelaide was Goodwin. Before people discard Neil Craig due to short memory this was back when Adelaide were a very good side throughout the mid 2000s.

Not sure where these dickhead comments are coming from tbh. That's not to say he'll be a successful head coach, that remains to be seen.

Sounds like we need to hire someone to motivate the players, teach them to play to a game plan, improve them as individuals and as a team, etc etc. If only there was such a position in football...
