So are we ever going to do anything about this counter attack problem?! I mean good on us for avoiding complete disaster and getting a draw but we really should have won that match.

1-0 up away from home and playing with two natural defenders.

The coach decides to bring on TWO 17 YEAR OLDS for the last 25 minutes?!? (Both who aren't defenders)

Seriously FFS bring chapman on at that stage. Pathetic coaching.

Thank god. I appreciate he worked hard, love he brought our first silverware to the club and like he tried to play entertaining football.......but......he has had 5-6 seasons all up at this club and done **** all in the league.

I can finally put my #JVSOUT calls on twitter away.

May I suggest that you all read into the circumstances around his resignation before classlessly celebrating it?

May I suggest you **** off to your own forum.

Best of luck to him and his dad. I care more about our club tho.

May I suggest you shove the condescending tone?

Didn't strike me as being at all condescending.

Fair enough though, that's why I never post in this thread. I'll go discuss football with people that have a bit of class and respect, and hope that none of you are ever in a position where you have to leave your job to care for a dying parent.

No one seemed to be celebrating in a classless way. Just acknowledgement of the contribution he made and recognition that this is best for the club.

Less classy to try and turn the illness of someone into a stick to beat City supporters with.

Turn it up mate. No one here wishes that on JVS. I've watched my father waste away with cancer and know how rough it is. Don't wish it on anyone.

However, we come here to discuss our club and many of us have been calling for his head for years. We have almost washed ourselves clean of the crap we used to produce on the pitch and he is the last survivor of that era (sorry Paulie).

We (a lot of us) with celebrate that he's finally left even though it's because of circumstances we feel bad for him for.

Yeah, good riddance. You've added nothing.

Calling for his head every year he's been there, have many supporters. It's what people do. Fickle. Blame the coach for poor on-field performances. When Malik and Jakobsen are available, we will be competitive again, but we are performing accordingly in defence.
To me, it appears JVS has made this decision of his own accord, not pressure from the Club. He was OOC anyway at end season. And there was talk of extensions...
How often would Fornaroli miss 2 penalties? That should have been a guaranteed 3 pointer.

You think playing two natural defenders is normal?

Or bringing on two 17 year olds when we were up 1-0 away from home at the 64th & 69th minute mark of the game while you have a central defender sitting on the bench.

I have no doubt the club has made it very clear after the weekend that he won't be needed next season and it has made his decision to return home right now a hell of a lot easier.

Where were you the night we beat Sydney FC at the FFA Cup?

Vdubs, I hate sacking coaches. I think it's often an exercise in catharcisim to soothe the angry masses rather than anything productive.

Here, my view is we have clearly the strongest squad in the league and are underachieving. Some of the blame for that has to fall to JvS. I wouldn't have sacked him but the way it has turned out is probably for the best.

Really well put mate. This 100%.

Not clearly the strongest squad. Sydney FC is deeper and in form, and no injuries helps.
MVC equally potent all over the pitch.
Brisbane ditto
TC is a genius, but would be better if had to perform cameo roles, mo.
BF is brilliant.
Then...?

In defence, Malik, Jakobsen are critical performers, and we miss them. Big hole. Look at our form with them in. So depth is an issue. NK is a godsend. CC is out of form this season so far.

BK also a key playmaker, but he has been found out to some extent, and it is not a coaching dilemma.

Anyway, my pov about JVS is POSSIBLY known, and I will have to get used to his replacement.

No other team has best 11 quality we have with 3-4 quality subs. JvS had to produce with it.
