yeah thought we didnt play too bad today but defo accuracy killed us.... who knows what scoreboard pressure might've done to Crows

Hello I am leeloo, and I have an irrational hatred of GWS, this will be my week of hell and probably won't watch the game as it will have a detrimental affect on my health. I should probably give it up but I can't (and just getting in early before the GWS flogs start lurking but never posting, flogs). Flogs.

Fix goal kicking accuracy and we could have won. Should be 3-3 but whatever

Lots of positives today. Walters played well. Pearce monstered poor Tex and was happy with most of Tabs work - was much better up the ground and looked pretty confident

Good to have Mundy back. Still not 100% confident but had a decent first game back. Barlow was much cleaner and Hill would be annoyed most of inside 50s were squandered by poor goal kicking

Ballas shouldn't have played but had no one else really to come in. Lots of positives today but bad kicking is bad football at the end of the day

Salim is talking about how Mitchell wasn't tagged as younger player the same age as Neale, not now as an older, more damaging player.
I wasn't being sarcastic. I agree that these players were all ignored by opposition coaches when they were younger. You can add Jobe Watson to that list as well.

Walters was sublime running through the midfield today,29 touches,3.2 gls + 141 DT points.
Goal kicking mids,yes please!!

Acording to the Sunday times Lachie Neale's manager said it was laughable the scuttlebutt about him leaving Fremantle . He wants the best deal posible and is waiting to see what the new salary cap will be so that he can get the best deal .
Fyfe's manager has been aproached by our list manager and is in talks with Fremantle to extend his contract with increased money as well according to the Sunday times.

I'd rather hawthorn win another flag this year than GWS tbh. I'd hate it if another of the franchised top up clubs won one before us

It's inevitable.
It is the AFL business model and if their progress stalls somewhat we can then expect they'll get the Sydney umpiring and tribunal treatment.

GWS won't win the flag.

Gold Coast keep reverting back to being terrible just when you think they have turned the corner. That place is just a graveyard for establishing support so they will need tge handouts just for survival.

I just don't understand this.

Early in the week we have Tabs saying he wants to get more tackles and now Ross saying he doesn't focus on goals to much. Lyon says goals aren't a measure he judges Ballantyne on.

I'm sorry but how do we become an attacking team if he's not worried if our forwards kick goals or not?

The part I don't understand is why we are taking someone carrying an injury into an away game we had no hope of winning when we could be giving one of the younger guys a shot. Ballantyne was injured and it showed. I just don't understand why we aren't resting him in that situation.

I get what you mean, so I’ll attempt to see why they’re not publically saying ‘goals goals goals’:
I’m no coach, but maybe sometimes if you put pressures on players to kick goals, it can actually do the opposite effect, causing anxiety. I think Ballantyne has a very healthy appetite for goals so maybe Ross puts pressure on the other things knowing that the goals will come. It has seemed that we’ve made a focus on “skills skills skill” and it seems like our skills have got worse :p So I’m guessing they’re telling Freo forwards the mantra “if you do everything else right, goals will come”. As you know, goal kicking is mostly between the shoulders so it’s probably a mental strategy?

Tabs yeah….He needs some more goal hunger I reckon. There was an opportunity against Adelaide that tabs picked the ball up on the run 60 degrees 35m from goal (hard shot) and elected to pass it (which was turned over) instead of trying for a goal. Most other key forwards eat that up, even if they miss. That’s why we liked A Pearce up there, showed so much even when he didn’t have the ball. Straight lined Tabs seems predictable and boring.

Does anyone think we are a reasonable chance against GWS?

I don't think I can handle a thrashing
