Considering K was found babbling in a drug induced state the previous Easter , she should have never had Charlise at Christmas time but I’m afraid money really does talk and it was probably because she was was going to the Stein family , it was permitted.
Kmutt admitted to using 9 points of ice a day at Easter , how was she so clean by Christmas? Did DHS even consider killersteins history and mental illness when allowing Charlise to go( I’m assuming she was under their authority?) , I’m all for family reunification but both Kmutt and killerstein had serious addiction, mental health issues and criminal records , im seriously wondering why she was allowed to go there in the first place but yes , Money talks .
If Kmutt was in a relationship with some everyday junky that didn’t have the support of a wealthy family, I believe things would be different.

It was said earlier that child services wasn’t involved, it was just arranged between Kallista and her parents. Kallista convinced them that she was clean (haha) and the place they would be staying at was well known.

Charlise was very keen to go. And it was only for a couple of weeks. What could possibly go wrong?

I don’t know, if something did happen and he’s that disturbed maybe he should stay in there.
Childhood abuse can lead to criminal behaviour from underlying factors, (and no child should be abused,)
but where do we draw the line?
This crimes extreme and why give him a shorter sentence so he can walk free and have a chance to do it again.

Such a tragic situation that an innocent little girl loses her life through none of own doing, but because she was caught up in a hopeless situation. . and it’s so often that it’s the ‘innocent’ who pay the price for the misdemeanours of others.

Kallista Mutton is a hopeless Ice Addict (I’d suggest that a lot of it was supplied by Stein, but I’ve nothing but my gut to back that up).

Stein is an ‘ex supposedly’ heroin addict, now on replacement drugs to manage that, and who still smokes Marijuana ( or whatever else was in the joint that he said he smoked that night she was ‘missing’).
We also know from the contents of his phone that he’s a collector of child pornography. … which in itself brings up lots of questions for me, irrespective of this current situation. I think he’s absolute scum & quite possible only with K because she had a daughter.

It seems to me that there needs to be some changes in the way we handle treatment of people addicted to drugs - because leaving them loose in society is of no value to them or to society.
Kallista was in jail as a result of her ice addiction. In 2019 she was released on parole “Under the intensive corrections order, Mutten is required to complete her rehabilitation program, remain under the supervision of corrections officers, and abstain from taking any illicit drugs”.
Why wasn’t she monitored, what psychological & psychiatric help did she receive to help her get off the stuff ?
How can someone have the opportunity in a treatment facility to be partaking of the stuff ?

RIP sweet little Charlise, I’m so sorry that our society failed you.

Relieved Stein was found guilty, now I hope he gets an appropriately harsh sentence. What a disgusting human being.
I imagine Kallista, and Charlise's grandparents, are filled with regrets, that will haunt them for a long time.

She’s still required to leave their 3 boys with him every weekend (although he often doesn’t want them so it’s more like once month) because according to children services being a meth addict doesn’t necessarily make you a bad parent.

There is so much wrong with that - and with so many other decisions that are made by our ‘social services’ ( or whatever heading their dictatorial & often unrealistic judgement comes under these days)

However, re this particular situation, I under that Charlise’s care by her grandparents was a private arrangement…. and I think they were caught between a rock & a hard place. My heart breaks for them.

I know a mum who was going through a pretty hard time after being with an abusive man. She smoked a little weed but worked and had 4 kids. DHS took the youngest until she gave up weed yet it has never affected her parenting skills negatively before and she was and is a good mum.

The Daily Mail's Candice Sutton's today's article has included a new paraphrase from the Crown Prosecutor in this case, that further clarifies whether Charlise was in her killer's bed shortly before she was murdered, along with a detailed analysis of what happens next (and possibly where). Plus a couple of new trial evidence pics.

Maybe the new wording was from having now received and reviewed a transcript or recording of the relevant part of the trial.

Noting that the terms of receiving a transcript/recording include
'the reproduction of transcript for any purpose other than the conduct of court proceedings is prohibited.'
which might account for why there is no Crown Prosecutor direct quote, and only a paraphrase in today's article on the bed bit.

'Defence lawyer Carolyn Davenport SC argued Stein should not be given life in prison, and pointed to other more extreme cases which had involved kidnapping and sexual abuse.

"It would be very cruel and unusual to send a 33-year-old man to prison for the rest of his life," Ms Davenport said.'

It would be even more cruel to all those affected by Charlise's murder, if Stein did not get imprisoned for the rest of his life.

And if this is not the norm, then doing so would set an excellent precedent.

It's not as though it would overload the NSW prison system from a new precedent being set for this type of rare event.
