Sixers, pretty passively. Grew up with the Lakers, but lost a bit of interest when they traded Van Exel, Eddie Jones, Elden Campbell, those guys and I sort of just bounced around after that. Latched on to the Bobcats briefly in the Mike Dunlap era, then similar for the Sixers with Brett Brown.

Seemed like a good team to join during the 'Trust the process' era and I like them, never really seen a reason to jump off in ten or so years.

Having said that I'm no die hard and I'm excited about the potential storylines when the season's done. I think there's a great story no matter who wins it from here.

How good would it be to see Jimmy Butler lead a team to the championship? I'd love to see Chris Paul win too. I think the battering that Kevin Durant's copped over the past 12 months is a disgrace and it'd be great to see him win another ring. I love Jokic's game and he deserves it. I think it would be fitting for LeBron to get his fifth - I think he's unquestionably one of the top two players of all time. Tatum and Brown are awesome, if they beat the 76ers, I'd be fine with them going all the way. I could go on...

Mike Dunlap? Did you go for the Bobcats due to him and his association with Australian basketball?

For now, I shall add you to the 76ers brigade.

Looks like they waited to see the outcome of the series before cutting him loose. I don't like it. If they had such a problem with his comments, sit him or suspend him. To me, it seems like they're doing what their players are accused of: cracking the sads when things aren't going well.

Although there is a second possible scenario in which they've touched base with him after the Grizz were knocked out of the playoffs and said "If you come back with us next year, you'll be expected to cut the BS" and he's responded poorly to that. In which case, fair enough.
I don’t think it’s that at all, the guy has been a pain all year. He has been unreliable all year, he overrated himself and has one of the worst shot selections in the NBA. You don’t add to that in the middle of the series by calling him out, but now the season is done they are cutting ties. See nothing wrong with it

Dillon Brooks been let go by Memphis. Apparently Dillon Brooks asked for a 4 year/100 mill deal and rather then come back with a offer they just said they wont negotaite and want him gone

Smart move by Memphis all round. Id expect Brooks to get like a 2 year 15 mill deal at best myself. I see Cleveland as the most obvious landing spot for him

But he started every game...?

They could have benched him, if there was a better option. It's the playoffs, you're not worried about the optics of benching someone.

Yes because he was a part of the team and they were missing two players so had to use him. He is now out of contract and they would rather use that money elsewhere, what’s the issue with how they handled it? This is not just because of those comments

Its fair to say they have options better lined up so now want to move him on.

Wouldnt surprise me if Memphis chase Mikal Bridges in the hopes Nets wanna blow it up. Alternatively can also grab OG Anuoby on that same principle

The way they've worded it seems very unusual to me, especially for someone who was a key part of their playoff run as recently as a few days ago.

Nothing particularly wrong about cutting him loose, but the whole "Not under any circumstances" part seems completely unnecessary, unless there's more to the story. The guy played six seasons for them and looked like he gave them everything he had. It might get them plenty of likes and positive comments on social media, but I think they'd be better taking the high road as they part ways (again, unless there's something more to this story).

I mean i am just not worried about the comments, it is not hard to imagine they are exhausted of dealing with his shit. It isn't even just his comments and media persona but his play is infuriating and would have to be felt by the team as well.

You say he was a key part and by that i assume you mean he was awful off court as a massive distraction while playing absolutely terrible all series and running and hiding after losing games? I would have been shocked if behind closed doors the team wasn't completely done with him.

Smells like a broken promise situation to me where Dillon Brooks demanded a ton of cash all of a sudden when a deal was somewhat mapped out already before then

So verbally agreeing to say 4/45 mill and then now demanding 4/100

So keep it behind closed doors. That's all I'm saying.

Cavs probably already blocked his phone number
