... In many matches over the last few years its been Pridda and Rosa that have provided our drive out of the ruck contests. IMO, Rosa will look like a star when he gets proper support too. He is an underated player, and ive seen him hold us together in games and be a major reason when we win...

This is Matt Rosa who averages a smidge over 2 clearances per game in his best clearance seasons? Gawd help us! I rate Rosa and think he is a good player but when you post analysis like this it is hard to take you seriously. Rosas' job has not and will not ever be to provide "drive out of the ruck contest"

Just so I'm clear...every time Valleyboy9 writes k/j that is shorthand for knob jockey right?

I :hearts: this thread :D

13 posts on a page saying the same things isn't spamming?!

Shane Woewodin, Tony Liberatore, Scott Wynd all agree with as the very bessssteessst playaz to evah winzza da medall!

Yeah well maybe you could have a run in the midfield and show all the others whose fault you ascribe the midfield woes to how to do it.

Worst argument ever

Im pretty unlikely to do that though - i stopped playing footy for the same reason he should - im slow - my man could run off me and hurt my team.

Having a Brownlow I am sure Priddis would be seriously worried about what advice you would be offering as you are such an expert on it all. Particularly due to your retirement as a result of slowness. That's the best excuse I have heard for a while for being a P/P footballer.

Mate until you produce your brownlow id suggest your opinion rates around the same as mine

We tend to compare afl footballers with afl footballers, not with posters who might have played a handful of ammo games. Saying "you never won a Brownlow so you can't criticise" is pointless. Unless Ross Glendinning is lurking around the board we may as well shut it down because no one is going to be able to say anything critical

Did you happen to miss this post?

And could you please explain to me what your abbreviations k/j and p/p stand for?

We should play Priddis in the same role we made Rowan Jones play - where he blocks/tackles/protects and creates space for our more damaging/creative mids.

the guy won a B

He won a Brownlow...for ***ks sake. Listen to the way Simpson and Woosh speak of him. What would help Pridda look better is if he had some midfield team mates who could step up, which hopefully will this year. Hes a machine without an elite kick, but if you average his pros and cons out hes a Brownlow winner.....so its right there for all to see....for fu**s sake!!!!!
If Masto, Schuey, Gaff, and Scooter can find the mental toughness Pridda has then WCE will fire. And if those guys cannot then we will be waiting on the new recruits to come through. In many matches over the last few years its been Pridda and Rosa that have provided our drive out of the ruck contests. IMO, Rosa will look like a star when he gets proper support too. He is an underated player, and ive seen him hold us together in games and be a major reason when we win. IMO, our problem with our mids over the last few years is all to do with their mental toughness. I think Woosh was aware of it, and Simo definitely is. In last years game against Adelaide at AO, Gaff finally did something that he must do always, that is he went for broke in 50/50 contests and it was great to see. Woosh called some of our boys out for not being strong enough mentally, they didnt like it and sooked about it, but guess what Simo comes in and says the same thing. I believe the penny is dropping with some of our boys in that there is no golden solution , just hard work and 100% commitment all the time for every 1% situation. Masto was better last year purely through work rate. Skill execution has long been a problem at our club too, and i believe Simo and the coaches are ironing that out. Alot of skill execution comes via confidence though and i think Simo has been good at pushing the boys whilst still making it clear that no one will do it for you. Its on the player to improve, the coaches are just there to help that process and guide the process.
As for the ongoing is Priddas a gun.......HE WON A BROWNLOW.....WOOSHA LOVES HIM....SIMO LOVES HIM...ALL OPPOSITION COACHES RATE HIM. !!!

I wonder, if Pridda was a deadshit with a tatoo or drug issue would the naysayers like him more?? The dudes a quality person and a ball magnet machine.
Definitely. The tattoo would make me think he was a star. How'd you guess.
The brownlow didn't do it for me but the tatt would.

i was at the StK V WCE game at Etihad in 2007 and i remember seeing Priddis feeding the ball to Cuz time and again, and i remember leaving the ground and listening to the radio and Eddie gave Pridda best on ground, i think Cuz was 3rd best. Thats when i started to realy notice how good he was. Cuz was outstanding, as usual, but Pridda made things happen time and again. It was all to do with workrate. He learnt off Cuz, Judd, Kerr. He is the real deal, he just isnt an elite kick.
When Malthouse was asked who he thought would win the Brownlow upon entry to the event in 2014 he nominated Priddis along with 2 others. And there it is.
You must be right. Especially when quoting yourself...

Nope, that's below good old Pridda. It's extremely rare to see him block, about as rare as seeing him deliver a bullet pass to a forward or winning the game of his own boot.

Our only midfielder in the history of this club that is not required to block.

He sure does create space, I'll give you that. The opposition run off him at will when they have the ball and treat him as a joke. That's where he creates space.
