Toast The New Carlton Thread: Lukey Sayers adds his utensil to the wooden spoons

You can’t compare it to a normal year. There are 23 rounds now. Likely need 13 wins to qualify. They’d need to win 9 out of 12 games. It’s do-able (last year we won 10 of our last 12 games) but can Carlton do it?
Are Carlolton a competent, well run club lead by an astute and innovative coach. Full of players with skill, desire and a never say die attitude?
I‘d say their chances are low.

Last year was fun kicking them out of contention at the last minute

This year it would be better to savour a death spiral

We want to hear ‘re-build’ dribble from their slack-jawed supporters
That's what it is isn't, the new Carlton perfection. "How to satisfy the Pies". Multiple chapters written
1. We don't bottom out, well not until we started the "Spoon Race".
2. Carlton don't rebuild, good to see Jack was right for once, he just forgot to add "successfully"
3. The Malthouse diaries, a ripping read
4. Subchapter to the above, "Mick recruits a son"
5. How to crash out of finals with maximum effect. Jamies last goal is on constant replay in my mind, cant stop smiling.
6 Give the Pies a 2nd rounder to incentivise their joy
7. Current chapter, "Dash hopes....... again". Have a season like the Messerschmidt we watched in war movies as kids. Dark force threatens the world til the Messerschmidt takes one up the rear and then death spirals into the Atlantic. The theatre, free world, AFL and all and sundry whoop into applause but Collingwood supporters smile, that pick 21 smile, so much stronger than all the rest.

Loving the unrest. Their club is going pretty well off-field but the coach/players are the ones stinking it up. "Vossy is contracted so lets have a go at the board".

"Oh look there's Mike Fitzpatrick. He can fix things!"

Messiah-chasing idiots living in the past. Last night the media was doorstopping "legends of the club" to see if they had anything to say. All blokes in their 60s/70s.

I was thinking of posting something about being pleased to see that their club is in the hands of old white men with tired old ideas…but didn’t coz I thought I’d get into trouble.

Thanks for doing it for me.😁

Cerra's appealing. He wants more weeks.

Unless there’s a technicality of Cripps’ proportions, he’s gone. Clear cut tackle of the kind they’re trying to eradicate.

Maybe the genius post you quoted went over your head

No, I got it. T’was funny! I just played a straight bat.

EDIT: Now I’ve posted that and I’m wondering is the idiom a “straight bat” or a “dead bat”? I hate getting old and senile.

2ND EDIT: Nope, happy with “straight bat” in this instance. Thanks for the love and support over my intellectual ineptitude.

You’re playing a straight bat in a thread where everyone else is dancing down the pitch and slogging it over the stands?

It was only one post. I’m judging each ball on it’s merits. My strike rate is good even for T20.
