Apparently the new 3DS has no plans to get released in Europe in 2015...
Was planning on buying an 3DS XL for Super Smash Bro's... Think I will stick with my 2ds for the time being and wait for this new model.

I'd take a guess it would be like the DSi, all around better with some exclusives but most games will work on the 3DS/2DS.

I, too, was considering upgrading my 3DS original into the 3DSXL. Thankfully this was announced now, but it's a pity my 3DS will be worth two-fifths of SFA when I go to sell it.

I see it being a marketing disaster. Because it will sell well and parents will buy 'New 3DS' games for their children with regular 3DS systems and cop it.
It needs a better name. At least you could differentiate between Gameboy games and Gameboy Colour games.

Yes the same shitty business practice that should be discourage but because it's Nintendo everyone will over look it. Hell next year Microsoft should come out with the Xbox two and match the ps4 spec's which halo 5 can only be played on
Perhaps we wait until we know more about it before we start slitting our wrists, hmm?

I still see it as a new console being released so I'm not as emo as the critics.
It's no more a new console than the DSi was.

If there are going to be a whole bunch of games that can only be played on it, then yes it's technically a new console irregardless or what its called or what it looks like. In saying that, I can see myself buying one once all the game developers jump onto the new hardware
I doubt that will happen.
The DSi had more RAM and a faster GPU, and got a few exclusives, but nothing significant.
I would think this will be similar.

Nintendo used to be way worse. We'd often get games six or so months after their release in the states. Now we get games soon after or even before the states.

If you consider it a new console, then who in the right mind would release another console 3 years after when the original doesn't have a huge lineup of titles. I don't consider it a new console though, it's just a nintendo ploy to sell more hardware.

If you like Pokemon, Pokemon X and Y were fantastic. Plus the remakes or Ruby and Sapphire are coming out in November I believe.
