“A freethinker is someone who forms their own opinions and beliefs, especially about religion or politics, rather than accepting what is commonly believed and taught.”

That meme has zero relevance whatsoever.

Are you able to formulate your own opinion, or do you need a set of guidelines you have to follow? A free thinker, or critical thinker, whatever, can look at things, cypher out the Bull shit and nuance, come to a conclusion based on that form their own opinion.

The opposite of that is someone who adheres to a certain doctrine or ideology and anything that doesn’t align with that is wrong and their brain just can’t accept it.

I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt here, because it seems like you aren't aware that the term "free thinker" has lost all meaning due to how it's been co-opted by cookers/anti-vaxxers/conspiracy nuts.

It's like how North Korea calls themselves the "Democratic People's Republic" of Korea. You can call yourself whatever you want. Doesn't make it accurate.

Interesting. I had no idea… though just because some fringe people that spend their lives in the bowels of the internet have decided that if someone is a free thinker, they’re a whack job doesn’t mean I’m just going to accept that’s now what being a free thinker means.

It's like... have you heard people use the phrase "do your own research" sarcastically to make fun of conspiracy nut jobs?

Same vein.

Its the lamest propaganda ever

I want to believe it so bad.

North Korea sends soldiers to fight and then someone shows them pr0n hub, spreads though the rank like wild fire…

Russian soldier Dimitri calls to a group of North Korean soldiers “Ok comrades get ready, we’re starting the assault in 2 minutes”

Do-yun “Oh for **** sake, Dimitri, she’s just got stuck in the couch”

I know women who are survivors of sexual assault (one from a very young age,) and of male directed control and violence and they are very uncomfortable with the thought of people with ***** and balls in the restrooms they use.

Are you suggesting those women are being intolerant or bigoted because of their traumatic past? Are you saying they need to put up with it because that's just how things are now?

Have you ever used the term TERF?
It's important to take people's trauma seriously but there's a reason the victims of crimes don't get to decide the sentences of their perpetrators. Trauma doesn't make people behave rationally, and the idea that we should shape policy around appeasing people's irrational fears is not something that would ever be applied to other issues, and in this case it's just a bullshit justification to heap more shit on a group that gets more than enough shit already. Trans people have the right to use public facilities. They don't deserve to be put through the public humiliation of revealing something personal like that just to appease people who hate them, regardless of those people's reasons for hating them. They don't deserve to be treated like sexual assault cases waiting to happen. They don't deserve to be punished for someone else's crime because the mob has decided their bodies constitute an offense.

Maybe you just don't know any trans people but I do, this isn't some abstract woke virtue signalling shit or something, these are my friends and they don't deserve to be treated as badly as they are by the world. I especially can't ****ing stand when people who get it when it's about women, black people, gay people, palestinians, every other group still have this blind spot when it comes to trans people. I know you would never, ever, ever in your life suggest that if someone was assaulted by a black person, they'd be justified in wanting black people out of their whites only spaces, away from their drinking fountains, and only at the back of their buses forever.

Hear hear.

That's not an answer. I don't even know who those people are.

The reason alot of people think you're a campaigner is that (like tef ironicallly enough,) you won't engage on issues when nuance and discussion is involved, you just respond like a campaigner.

Funny, did you know that when GPO died the only person to acknowledge and mourn their death on this board was tef? I doubt you even know who that is. He also acknowledged the death of some obscure trans artist I'd never heard of at that point with a post about their contribution to society and courage to live the way they did in spite of the discrimination they faced.

Haven't seen anything like that from you yet.

No but people do say that stuff. Its the basis for alot of racism and discrimination against all minorities.

I'm not saying there is an easy answer or that you should exclude trans people but it certainly raises some questions and if you don't acknowledge you're taking away a safe space for the people who most need it then how will you replace that safe space?

Trans people.

Lovely. A great way to make a point that a conversation needs more "nuance and discussion" is to call someone a cnt. Really demonstrating a strong principled stance there, ferbs. Very on-brand for you.

I'm not saying there is an easy answer or that you should exclude trans people but...

No. There is no "but".

Either you acknowledge that trans men are men, and trans women are women, and these so-called "safe spaces" are their safe spaces as well, or you don't. And if you don't, you're advocating for a Jim-Crow, segregationist style system at best, and bigoted discrimination at worst.

You like to call yourself a "radical" but you so frequently use the same arguments and tactics that people used to argue against the civil rights movement for black people. If you were anyone else, I'd hope that would give you pause and cause you to do some self-reflection. But I won't hold my breath.

I'd rather be on the right side of history and support a vulnerable and discriminated cohort of people, even if it means losing an election. It's better than embracing the far-right and being radicalised by abhorrent discriminatory politics like we're seeing from the MAGA camp and the big-money powers supporting them in pursuit of power.

Compare Elon in 2018 to the hateful crap he spouts now.

Governments are going to need to build safe spaces for trans people.

So what about people who identify as women sometimes, men other times, or as neither?

First things first; why do you always default to 'whataboutism'?

Secondly... what you're asking is nonsense, to put it frankly. We're talking about trans men and trans women. People who live their lives as trans men and trans women.

This implication that people want to dress up as the opposite gender just to go into bathrooms for perverted or dangerous reasons is nonsense.
