Most recent batsmen to make a ton on Test debut for Australia

Notably, all away tests as well.

I think the Selectors have created a bit of a dilemma for themselves.

I don't think Australia will bat again this test.
If Inglis gets runs again in the next test, it will make it interesting.

I assume they will want Konstas opening in the WTC and Head back to 5.

If that's the case, either Labs, Inglis or Webster to miss out?

FWIW, I think the dropping of Konstas was deplorable, regardless of how Inglis and Head went.

Inglis to miss, they showed with Konstas they weren't afraid to make some big calls

Labs not likely to be dropped still, and Webster they will want for his bowling

Carey is another option to miss. That might sound ridiculous but he loses a lot of his security with another competent gloveman in the team making runs

FWIW I can't see it happening soon, but the best place for Inglis to put pressure on him is from within the XI.

What even is the point in playing Sri Lanka?

Current result playing out is a farce.
Massive call. Australia haven’t won a series since there since 2011 and this current Sri Lankan side in recent times have been better than the one Aussies faced in 2022. Yeah SL are going terribly after the 2nd test but lets not forget how Australia bounced back after Perth when India pantsed them

Only reason this series is essentially meaningless was because of the dominance in the BGT in the end.

If it had turned out closer, or India won then Australia would have needed results here to go their way to make the Test championship Vs SA.

Is what it is, good chance to tinker with the line-up like what they've done

WA Will suffer. Inglis will be used as a cover batter for injuries and spare keeper as well as used as a subcontinent specialist. He absolutely grabbed this opportunity with both hands but now he just has to keep on making runs and force the selectors to make a tough call.

Can people stop saying this Test series is meaningless?

In terms of the points for the WTC it is, it's already been decided

Still pride to play for as well as the Warne-Murali trophy however

I get that the WTC Final has been decided. But no Test series is meaningless. Especially one on the sub-continent where wins are as scarce as hen's teeth.

Plus it's pretty clear it was an enormously good toss to win.

I'd drop Labuscagne personally. He has looked very poor over the past 12 months. Gets bogged down and generally very scratchy even if he does make a few.
Sounds like they are dead keen to have Green play as well.
I wouldnt simply because he will be underdone and its a huge risk. Especially with Slug looking so assured.
High quality problems, suddenly we are flush with Test batting options. Far cry from the bemoaning the demise of Aussie cricket after the first BGT Test.

Virat’s Ranji Trophy return is going well

Managed 6 off the 15 before being bowled through the gate and giving us this wallpaper worthy photo
I love how he's got so far across to cover his stumps that you can see middle and leg.

And is still clean bowled.
