I just watched the replay.....boxing should be the ultimate 1 on 1 primordial duke out between humans in their prime. But it is not even a sport anymore. They both looked sad to have to participate in the charade.

Does anyone even know who is no. 1? Is there even a no. 1?

Yeah Usyk is the heavy weight champion at the moment. There’s still loads of good boxing going on.

This was just a circus show.

Wouldn’t surprise me! Has fought at heavy weight in kick boxing before and walks around at around 105kg (just under 230 pounds). Jones is pretty similar. Jones wrestling would be a big problem for Alex though.

Maybe. He’s 37 and he’d have to put on a fair bit of size, and at that age he’d need some juice to get it… or he just has a crack naturally. Maybe he could do it, it’d definitely be interesting.

He isn’t the best grappler (in UFC terms), he did a seminar at my kids BJJ school earlier this year, and was very impressive.

Curious to know what the more ardent NRL watchers think about the news:

“WA’s hopes of being the next announced team in the NRL have been put on ice, with the league set to reveal a Papua New Guinean team next week in Sydney.

Ahead of a planned announcement with Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and PNG counterpart James Marape next week about the League’s 18th team, the State Government distanced itself from the planned event, casting doubt on a Perth team deal.”
