I really hope they have a Jim/Pam potential divorce angle going with the new girl wanting Jim...they've been so boring to watch together for ages now

Honestly? Stanley actually annoys me particularly the new "shove it up ya butt" comment!!!

Yeah Stanley is annoying in Season 8.

Loved the opener as well. The whole Appendicitis thing with Dwight returning after the operation went a bit too far i think but it was still a good ep.

Stroke of genius introducing James Spader, love the character he plays.

Really? IMO, he's one of the main points wrong with this season and that the better episodes this season are the ones where he gets little screen time or none at all.

Another one who agrees. Can't stand him and the character he plays and has been a negative on the show.

Always thought spader was a massive douche.

Good decision from both parties. The writers weren't able to find a suitable role for him and Spader's character was floundering.

I thought the recent month-ish of episodes has been much, much better.

I like the way they've done the Daryl and Val angle - clearly learned their lesson after bungling the Andy and Erin courting earlier on.

Jim and Dwight doing scenes together is always good but I wish they would show Jim being anything other than a stand up guy. He's been the same nice guy, with the same middle level job with the same personality for 8 years now. For once, I would like to see him slip up. Just do something different the character, people don't stay the same for a decade.

The Florida conference thing is a good idea. Brought back that British boss, who has been quite good, and gives a good reason to lose Gabe and some peripheral cast members. I don't get the Erin and Ryan thing, but whatever... as long as we get more Erin.

And tuning Andy down from his "Please like me, Please like me" new boss routine was the best decision. Now he is just a normal boss who sometimes does silly things and not every episode finishes with a reaffirmation.

For the first time in about three seasons, I'm actually looking forward to see the next batch of episodes.

Pretty decent episode, no coincidence that the last few have been good witha bit of Jim/Dwight dialogue. They make the show. Dwight and the bed bugs was great as was Jim leading him into it. Cracked up at dwight getting under the covers.

Good to see packer back, always good for a few laughs. He v Dwight is going to be good.

It does seem like the writers actually have a direction now.

Seemed like they were basically going through the motions for a majority of this season until someone has said 'ok, we have to have a point here'. Who knows, it could've come from the communities backlash to the earlier episodes too, no real coincidence that the post-mid-season break the eps have been significantly better. They've listened.

Now we have several interesting threads with good solid focus back on the interesting characters again.

I'm also working on the theory that this new girl who's going after Jim may see Pam leave the show...since she's become a boring person now with no real role. Jim cheats, gets a poorer image (as to your own 'too nice' thing) and the marriage breaks down and it culminates with Pam leaving. Just a theory with no looking into anything, but that's what I think may go down (I haven't watched this weeks ep, so no real idea if this has advanced or not).

Jims had some stunners go after him. Also the older he is getting the more average he looks.

Dam i would have gone the new girl in a flash...especially when she bends over right-in-front-of-him.

Pam should just leave. The only thing helping her are her mummy boobs. :thumbsu:

I can not see them pushing Pam aside now. It's too close to the end and there would be too much backlash, I imagine. Fair idea though, HBK, I imagine one of the writers has had the same exact thoughts.

This isn't kind of the show to make big moves like that.

I think there's nothing wrong with reducing Pam to a 3rd stringer, like Oscar or Kelly, and be a character to facilitate the story and for others to play off.
