Almost 10 months ago we blissfully gorged ourselves on the opening of the NBA season. Kawhi left Canada for a better standard of loving (now who's laughing), arrived in LA (the other one) instantly forming the leagues most powerful squad, Lakers traded the farm for AD, Houston changed their logo, we ate at restaurants and enjoyed exercising for more than an hour...... Then the season got the rona.

Finally we here. The first potentially annual NBA bubble playoffs.

So the NBA took the opportunity to trial new things, like the AFL. Namely the first ever NBA Play IN, with the streaking Portland dispatching the brave, gritty Grizz. Dame (who i once picked in the Bigfooty all time NBA draft - conditions apply - and was laughed at) is ballin. Only Trevvy Booker is on par with this guy.

Giannis will be raring to go after copping a one match suspension for headbutting German Wagner. Slap on the wrist? Like the AFL with serial COVID offenders collingwood hey? BUILD THE WALL SEND THEM HOME!

WEST

[1] Lakers v [8] Blazers. Real danger matchup, possibly the worst for the Lakers who due to bad luck and the corona have no defensive guards. AD and Lebron didnt care last week and it showed. If Lebron turns up, Lakers have a chance. Lillard cannot be stopped. CJ, broken back and all, is doing his best luke hodge impression playing through pain. Nurkic, a lazy 20-20 today (no rona) and Gary Trents son form an imposing core. And don't forget scoring machine Melo wearing 00 in tribute to Kevin Duckworth. Hasan Whiteside, defensive monster, matches up well on AD. Crucial. Although they dont have Ariza, he will provide valuable insight from afar being an ex Laker. Reckon Blazers in 5 or 6.

[4] v [5] Houston v Oklarona. TASTY!!! Battle of the swapped guards. Reminiscent of the Lockett-Minton-Connell trade. OKC are everyones second team, a bunch of players who dont inspire too much, but get the job done. Steven Adams will be pumped after news that his beloved NZ is in lockdown, expecting 15 boards a game against the short people of houstons frontline. CP3 won't overtly seek revenge, but will use his craftiness to orchestrate Ws. Shaivonte Aician Gilgeous-Alexander has come of age away from the Los Angeles spotlight. They will need to be focussed to tackle the Harden-Westbrook duo. This one is too close to call

[3] v [6] Denver v Utah. So many gun foreigners in this matchup. SLeepy Joe and Bol Bol leading the way. Really only interested to see how much of an influence the refs will have on the series. Probably Denver.

[2] v [7] Clippers v Mavs. Really sad that only one can advance. Expect the Clips to throw beverley, PG13 and Kawhi at Luka with the view to wear him down. Porkzingas and Tim Hardaway Jr finally have a stage to show their wares, casting aside the NY Knick stench after all these years. Actually Porky is the X factor here. He's got range, length and the spirit of Ivan Drago in him. I think we will see Lukas individual brilliance shine, but it wont be enough to extinguish LA's ambiance as the Clips sail into the second round against Portland with a 4-1 win.

EAST

1 v 4 Bucks v Magic. Orlando have the home town advantage, not too dissimilar to West Coasts if the finals are played in Perth. But they enter the playoffs with the worst record, in fact a losing one lawl. If the Bucks lose one, expect Giannis to go Zidane on someone. Bucks in 4.

4 v 5 Pacers v Heat. This one is intriguing. TJ Warren and Jimmy Butler don't like each other. This feels like a tyson-holyfield clash. Who will bite who though?

3 v 6 Boston v 76ers. No Ben, no 6ers? Jo-el its your time to shine. Boston to romp it in. Easy money.

2 v 7 Raps v Brooklyn. The KD less Nets had nothing to play for in their last game. Nothing, but still gave Phoenix Suns a glimmer of hope. Rocking the black and white jerseys, the Nets are everyones third team. They have the best french one two punch in LeVert/Luwawu-Cabarrot since Paker/Diaw. They have DeAndre Jordan, KD and Kyrie. The Raptors seek to go back to back to show Kawhi "we dun need you" then apologise immediately. They continue to defy, just like last year. This could be the funnest series in the bubble. Hope it goes to 7.

Blazers only paying $4.75 seems way too low. Too many people have jumped on the Blazers bandwagon. They are terrible defensively, and snuck across the line against teams that were playing for nothing with Lillard playing out of his mind.

Lakers in 4 or 5.

"Actually Porky is the X factor here. He's got range, length and the spirit of Ivan Drago in him. '' I agree with you , if Porzingis will show basketball that he is showing last games, Mavs must win this round. Luka and Porzingis is a scary duo!

Our series with brooklyn aint going 7 lmao.
If it does we are done, need every bit gas in the tank for these playoffs.
Good preview though!
I hope it does. So much young talent on show, 7 games is an nba fan/broadcasters dream

Getting the ball to Embiid in the post is easier said than done, when you have a team that barely has a player that can deliver an entry pass.

Goddamn this front office focused on so many of the wrong things.
