Banfield has been at the club for six years now. He has played as has been said, in many different roles. Hardly starred in any, but is the types of player that every club needs to win flags.
I remember Chris Connolly saying at one time, players take six years to develop to the level required.Of course, it does not take every payer six years, but some grow and develop into player around that time frame.
He is 26, an age that most players have developed their skills and believe in themselves. BB has done that.
Maybe he will never be a super star, but he will always be a super club man that gives everything every time he gets to don the Purple guernsey.
As an addition to the above. I believe that game against Port was the last time at Subi where the coach and a few players went into the Billy Walker room and spoke to the supporters. The room was always crowded, and that day the mob were not happy.
There was a scuffle and a supporter was thrown out.
It became very ugly. A sad day for the club and supporters.

Banfield is a player that should be getting picked every week right now, he's playing his role to perfection and running down forward to kick a goal or two, players like those are massively important, he may never reach that elite level compared to others, but he was always have a role in the team.
