I weathered the storm when I called for Taberener to be dropped and that turned out to be the right call.

I'll weather this storm too.

Do you always celebrate and defend the team when they lose? That's a guaranteed recipe for success.

wouldn't have been on an AFL list for this long at 17 other clubs.

I actually think this has been Bailey's best season though.

But I always see a player I reckon come the heat of a heavy duty final just will make crucial costly errors.

I suspect he will get an extension though.

And that's fine, when the teams better off without these spuds, I'm not gunna want a pat on the back and a "you were right". The results will be vindication enough for me.

As perhaps one of Banners biggest supporters, I'm disappointed. Yes, disappointed about him giving away that unnecessary 50 at a crucial point in the game, but also he has now allowed his haters to come out of the woodwork with vitriol and direct all the blame of the loss and season on him.

His first half was good, not sure what happened in the second. However, I feel that htb on the wing, then fumble in the fwd line led to increase frustration and drop in confidence in game. He probably is mentally aware each and every mistake he makes is scrutinized 10 fold.

I still believe banners can be b22 for Freo. However, to do that, I don't think he should be playing fwd predominantly. Also, I think he is overthinking it a bit too much now, rather than the freedom of the earlier games where he was better.

Anyway, I'll continue to support banners even with the heat. I did so last year, when everyone was bagging him then. But although I would like him to remain at Freo as he does bleed purple, for his career it's perhaps better he gets a fresh start at another club, where the scrutiny is not as he gets here.

So in summary, you support Banfield, will continue to do so, but want to support him from afar?

He’s been serviceable. Reliably filling that 16th to 22nd picked position. However, his last part of this season has shown his flaws, but yesterday was different levels of inadequate. By any measure it was a career killer type game. Was diabolical. About the only good thing he did was handball to Freddy and even that was an actual horrendous decision.

This is the sort of 2/3 year contract we’ll reflect back on and think why did we extend this guy.

It needs to be removed. Offered 1 year with trigger for 2nd year otherwise he’s free to look elsewhere.

If he’s best 22 next year we haven’t recruited as hoped nor have we developed youngsters that should jump in ahead of him.

He didn't have a good first half. You are making things up. It wasn't just his indiscipline that cost us. He was a total liability all game.

If we wanted 22 blokes that bleed purple we could pull them off this big footy board and give them contracts.

Didn't say he should be offered a contract based on bleeding purple if you read. I said although I preferred he stayed at Freo because he bleeds purple and has love for the club, for his own career perhaps he should look at other options to get a fresh start elsewhere.

Every week we have D grade performers there. Be it Emmett, Walters, Banners. Freddy has had some stinkers too.
We lost Shultz, in contract, due to family reasons. We need a plug n play A grade forward. The only one who seems to fit is Bolton. We need him to make it known he needs to come home for family reasons. I just don't see how our small forwards will do enough to take us to the next level. Even if we draft the best 1 or 2 in this draft.
Banners and or Emmett are decent depth players, that's it

He had a shocking game obviously but ultimately it’s the coaches fault for selecting him while out of form or not subbing him.

The bulldogs game he basically won off his own boot. He also bobbed up for clutch goals quite a bit early on in the year.

I swear that the second it was reported that he got offered an extension is when he reverted back to his normal performance. When he was actually worried about his spot every week he played so much better. Now he’s not only coasting, but actively taking the worst possible options every time he gets the ball in his hand.

Banners has played some decent games for Freo but yesterday wasn't one of them.
