Marc and Mike are on the trading block per se. Meaning that Pera and Wallace will listen to offers.
Well, kind of expected it. Twas a great ride.
Bit of a weird time to start tanking.I'd get rid of Wallace first.
The Griz are an opportunity lost. There has been a law of diminishing returns on Memphis assets for years, and he needs to be held accountable for that.
The 2009 Draft in itself was almost a fireable offence.

I know they're 2nd to last but still they weren't deliberately tanking.
Probably won't get anything for Conley with that contract but gasol they could pinch a couple of picks.
No use waiting, Conley & Gasol's value is only going to diminish further over time.
Reckon the Jazz would give Conley a look. Maybe Washington would do a sea-change deal for Wall, although that doesn't really help Memphis. Definitely seems like a candidate for the LeBron timeline Lakers too.
Utah is a good place for Conley.
If you were the Pistons, would you trade Drummond for Marc (imagine him with BG) or try to offload Reggie Jackson for Conley?

Both deals make some sense for us. Gasol would be aiming for a mini rebuild. Whereas having Conley would be hoping having a competent point guard makes a big difference for us, however that deal doesn't do much for Memphis.Dunno about Drummond, but I'd think seriously about Conley for Reggie Jackson + Leuer if I were them. Again doesn't do much for Memphis though, and the minute additional assets (ie draft picks) are required it becomes dicey for Detroit.
Someone good.... Damn that rules Pistons out.Memphis' would need someone young that isn't in the rotation + picks and a player who is good but isn't expiring for a while.
I would take that deal plus picks.
Makes end game situations really easy to defend if a team is up by 3.

Do you reckon the Griz would accept something like Favors (18 months left) + Rubio (expiring)?
The problem with Conley being on such a massive contract is that to obtain draft picks you'd probably have to absorb some bad contracts.
I could see a team like Indy giving up three expiring deals like Tyreke + Collison + O'Quinn, if they reckoned that Conley was better than anyone they could realistically get on the 2019 FA market. They'd probably throw in a couple of second rounders too.
To get a first round pick for Conley you'd need to find a good-but-not-great team needing an upgrade at point guard and entering their contention window, who also possess some cap clogging contracts they need to offload. That really limits the field of prospective trade partners.
You might have a little more wriggle room re. Gasol though.
Regardless Memphis will take bad contracts. They are not in a position where they will get good returns.

Agreed, I just wonder which option they'd prefer.
Indy or Utah could offer you considerable cap relief, but no real assets save for 18 months of Favors or some marginal draft picks.
You could trade for John Wall or Wiggins theoretically, but that just makes you slightly younger and doesn't help you rebuild. Detroit could give you some slightly shorter bad deals, but probably only marginal assets at best.
Maybe a team like Orlando would give you a first if you were willing to accept a shit sandwich of Mozgov, Simmons + assorted other junk.
