No different from person W following player X from team Y to team Z. We have all heard it before. Lebron to Miami just as an example. "Iwas a Lebron fan so I followed him to Miami"
Who cares anymore? As long as the individual at question is knowledgeable about the sport in general and can give you decent discussion at work.

Even if he is a new NBA fan and just likes Dwight, the original point still stands. More people who like basketball = more people to talk about basketball with.

My post was in jest, but I think you missed that. After giving him the above reactions, he did go on to say he was more of an NBA fan in general. Still wouldn't know more than the best player on each team though...

Yeah big fan of the Gaels. Delly probably go down as the best ever alongside Tom Meschery. His contribution to the program was immense. 3 out of 4 years in the NCAA tournament. Watched nearly all of his games at Saint Mary's. A lot of my favourite moments in sport in the last few years were from Delly himself. Tremendous college player. I hope it can translate to the big time.
