VERY surprised at this move.

Surely there must be something more to this when one of your toughest, most reliable and most CONSISTENT players is being offered up for a 26 (27?) year old mid with a known dodgy knee.

How the hell can the Hawks not want to deal on McGlyn but offer up Brown as trade bait. We love the way you go about it Campbell, You epitomise what the Hawks are all about. God I hope this is just rumour mill Bulls**t:confused:

If this deal goes ahead i'm not renewing my membership unless there is a good reason other than just wanting to get burgoyne

+1

I will cancel my membership and take up a Gold Coast membership if this goes through without the best of reasons. Seems like we are offering way too much for Burgoyne in this deal.

I might have to go and chill out for a while before I tell clients where to go...

browny by far is my fav player he was drawed with crawf for a while cause crawf had been around longer, but when he started to play especially in 06 i just thought this guy is gonna help us win a flag and he did!

so glad hes not leaving, personally would rather lose with him than win without him.
and we wouldn't be able to win without him he has skill passion and hes courage's he bleeds for our club and that's why everyone loves him.

i don't think we offered him up for trade i think port where string up trouble and look at the response it got.

although if the hawks did offer him than i have lost faith in our club not the playing group but the others, clarcksen needs to go. get Mathews because yes clarko got us to a premiership but with the list we had anyone could have done that.

hope brown comes out firing i know he will just to show everyone that this is where he belongs

love the guy he is awesome love his passion love his efforts love his humor !! saw him run like the blazes to creat a lead at the punt road end the ball did not go to him but i am sure it helped the guy who was closer i am very sure he is buggared today from his efforts !
after a bump he laid that helped us get a goal he cramped badly but the true grit of the man he always comes back for more !

Love Browny.
As well as he did yesterday though, I'm thinking he will be needed down back next week.

He was fantastic yesterday and shows how important an uninterrupted injury free pre-season can be.

Disagree with sending him down back - would like to leave him forward to stretch the cats backline and bring in Stratton if need be for the defence. Building depth, how beautiful is that.

I also disagree, because Browny adds awesome forward pressure which I think will create more goals than he'd stop in the backline.

Also in the Brown is a forward camp - I know Grizz has alluded to it a few times, the chopping the arms and hands in the back interpretations have rendered his effectiveness down back a reduced capacity - has to play on the shorter players who can burn him for pace.

Leave him up front where his pressure, combined with Hooper, Peterson and Rioli (soon) will have backmen having nightmares.

Hear what ya's are all saying but i cant see Ossie Hooper Rioli and Browny all in the fwd line.

Browny is fitter and stronger than he was last year so some of the probs Grizz mentioned might not be so prevalent.

Just think there will be times when the pressure is really on, that his hardness and experience will be very much required down back.

By no means am I saying don't play him forward ever.

Credit where it is due, but he caught a few rabbits in the headlights yesterday. This is unlikely next week.

Whatever the case I reckon he'll play a fair bit of both this year.

Will be interesting for sure - horses for courses and versatility, along with the element of surprise will all play a big part of this season.

Sure, we played the bottom side yesterday, but I'd like to see us rather than trying to get that third tall fwd option to work, occasionally just have the one tall (rotating off the pine) with a fleet of speedy runners - just get rid of the predictability.

I need to elaborate more, but I also need to go watch the GP.

Go Webber, and let's hope it doesn't get dark before it finishes - they should have started at 4.

Campbell Brown won me many years ago that time he backed into the pack against Adelaide and got crunched. For a while it looked like his shoulder was gone for good.

Win, lose or draw, you know that whenever he leaves the field he has given his all.

I hope he remains a hawk for the rest of his career.

If so he will go down as one of our all time greats.

i seriously couldn't have more love for this guy.
he was by far our best on ground yesterday, no he didn't get 34 possessions like hodgey did, its the one per centers that count.

i don't believe he is going anywhere, look at that performance and what Lewis said today on the footy show

Talent V Courage under fire

Some questioned his place in our best 22 I did aswell BUT his pressence & commitment & attack on Man & Ball are second to none hope he stays at the HFC next year the Mad Dog got love him his second efforts are bloody amazing

Hmmm, Browny. An interesting one.

Unfortunately I'm convinced that he's headed for the Gold Coast, BUT if it turns out to be true then it only bodes well for his performance in 2010 in my opinion. I don't think Browny would feel disenchanted at Hawthorn, I'm sure he loves the club but he understands that despite his aura on the field and the inspirational way he plays it doesn't equate to long contracts and big money. He's won a flag at the Hawks and I'm sure if he does leave he'll want to do it as a champion of the club and hence why we'll see him play with more heart and more ruthlessness this year if it is indeed his last.

Hypothetically, if Brown does head north would you remember him more fondly if he left the Hawks playing his heart-out or if he played 2010 with self-preservation in mind? If Brown puts everything on the line to make sure he leaves Hawthorn as a dual premiership player then I'd personally drive him to the airport at the end of the year.

TBH Nev I would drive him to the airport with my blessings either way but for the life of me even hypothetically I just cannot imagine someone with the passion and calibre of brownie ever giving anything other than 1000%. Brownie has given and given for the hawks and I have no problem whatsoever with him choosing to go after a contract that looks after him as he heads towards the end of his career.
