I know ive posted these like 20 times now... but my 3 babies

*as well as Socks and Sam. The former was given away while I was in school. The latter was given to my yia yia, but she was then attacked by a dog so we took her back, cared for her/nursed her back to health, then unfortunately she was hit and killed by a car.

All 5 were lovely cats/kittens, with such unique and different personalities.

Damn i still miss them. It's been like 15 years now... I can just picture Sandy snoozing on the bonnet of mum's car or Tiger sitting on the back verandah's handrail looking in at ppl in the kitchen, when I go over there sometimes.

Pic off the internet- pretty much the carbon copy of Samantha + Socks.

Why do cats sometimes bite you if you giving them a pat, they purring like crazy and then all of a sudden they want to bite a finger?

Male?
Probably... excited. -cough-

My cat Tiger I had to be very careful patting his belly.. he could attack at any second. Otherwise he was fine. He was actually the most affectionate out of them- and he was the ONLY one to get on my lap and sit there for ages. The two female cats never did that- if you put them on your lap they'd jump off in an instant. Were ok tho with being picked up/patted.

Kittens eyes remind me of that dude on MAFS last night that is teamed up with Alana.

OI. My kitties were never on crack thank you very much

my kitten does that, you can be patting her or she likes to lick you then 2 secs later she biting and she has sharp little teeth

No, The Tonkinese cat bite me last night but Burmese cat that is female used to bite all the time after a lit bit, but I always assumed it was just her personality to want to start a fight for fun of it as that seemed to be her personality to be a bit of a smartarse.

Tonkinese cat is a lot more shy type of cat and completely different personality. I rarely pat him anyway but for some reason he been a lot more talkative and hanging around lately, so patted him to see how he reacts and he purring his head off and then bites, which reminded me of that old Burmese cat that passed on a few months ago. The Tonkinese cat is kind of scary if it wanted to really hurt you, even if just being playful as his claws are more like a beast than a normal cat and if he wanted to bite hard, ****, I would keep away from him forever...lol.. some cats are fun to tease to tickle but if you did it to him you would lose so much blood you would die.

Probably doesnt completely trust you.

Id try just sit next to him, hands flat on the ground.. and give him some treats. Make friends with cat treats.

*could also just be playing with you and not biting you "seriously"- like wanting to break the skin.

Cats also sometimes will be on your lap and "knead" into you- which is actually quite painful af, but its a sign of affection lol
Yeah, it did not seem to be biting me seriously but always wondered why cats can do that biting thing, but it still worries me as he is very strong so even if he was being playful he could probably really hurt your finger if you allowed it to go on. I kind of sense if just being affectionate but never understood it. Not all cats do it but the Burmese cat first one I come across that did it often and Tonkinese cat rarely pat. The Tonkinese cat used to be so shy it would stay over 15 metres away and look at you like you a serial killer...ha ha

I was over at a mates place- he has 3 cats.
TheLoungeLizard

Elvis had a mad personality- was weaving in and out my legs, right away we were BFF.

Another one was asleep in the sun- so said not to wake it.

And the other one is 100% shy af. TLL offered to grab her and bring her over- i was like no- let her do what she wants. She ended up coming up to me on the couch.. sniffing at my leg. I stayed just still, and talked to her (in a friendly voice).. sniffed some more- then took off- literally ran.

Must not have liked how I smelt :tearsofjoy: :sadv1::unsure:

They're always in different moods. IIRC Sandy NEVER had a go at me- ever. Not even a swipe or bite.

Snow- would definitely have a go esp if you were patting her from below and she was sitting up high on the verandah. It was like the "hand" was coming from nowhere and scared her lol.

And like I said, you had to be careful with Tiger...

I dont think any of them drew blood tho. I was always too fast for them usually, anyway.

But I can totally relate actually- a neighbours cat, I made friends with. Ranga cat, was ugly af tbh..

He'd weave between my feet/ankles, meow.. id pat it.. then suddenly its hissing at me.

I dont do hissing. Yeah **** off- when he did it to me like for the 3rd time, I was done. No more attention or pats for you

Hissing is weird. They seem to do it more to other cats than humans. But yeah, if a cat did hiss at me, I would not trust it and be done with it.
Tonkinese cat will hiss and growl at Burmese cat if she continues to annoy him. She basically needs a re-straining order put on her.

Yeah hissing they usually mean business.

And that growl.. they usually reserve that growl for cat fights tho

Dogs are the same tho.

Me and my mate was over at a mutual friends place- his kelpie Jake, literally pushed us both off the couch. Not in a mean/bitey way, he was just lying down.. and pushed us with his hind legs/paws.. gradually we were both sitting on the floor and he was stretched over the couch LOL.
