NBA players with a first name consisting of 2 initials are generally scrubs to role players. They're never HoF calibre players.

Eg.

OJ Mayo
TJ Ford
PJ Brown
BJ Armstrong
DJ Augustin
JJ Redick
CJ Miles
JR Smith
DJ Mbenga
MO Williams

My man DJ Strawberry would have defied that trend, but he got no minutes.

As much as I'd like him to, Mo Williams does not fit in that catagory. He is Maurice Williams.

Although then again, players who use their first names are generally role players or scrubs too, it's just the sample size is exponentially larger.

Dunno if I've already posted this on BigFooty, but I have also found another NBA success secret.

Secret to NBA success = 2 first names.

Eg,

LeBron James
Kobe Bryant
Chris Paul
Dwyane Wade
Carmelo Anthony
Michael Jordan
Dwight Howard
Vince Carter
Tim Duncan
Isaiah Thomas
Karl Malone
Deron Williams
Paul Pierce
Ray Allen
Vince Carter
Brandon Roy
Ben Wallace
Yao Ming
Rashard Lewis
Jameer Nelson
Tony Parker

Well if the Hornets give away West for nothing they are essentially giving up CP3 as there is nothing surer than him walking away when he can become a FA.

Yeah just read the link and it says teams are after Paul. I mean if they give him up they will never get equal talent in return, especially given that he hasn't reached his ceiling yet. I'd love to see him on a team with some really nice complementary pieces, but unless NO are getting borderline superstar talent back they wouldn't (shouldn't) pull the trigger, or else they might as well just move the team to Vegas.

Getting on a bit of a tangent here, but maybe a crappy team that ends up with pick 1 in the draft and has some cap space trades for Paul luring LeBron to their team while NO can go through a rebuild with Wall and whatever filler they get from the trade. Only problem is that this idea doesn't work with the Nets because of Harris. Man I am totally waffling.

Yeah you're right. Looks like a few teams are sniffing around already.

Won't happen. If they can move Devin Brown (who has already vetoed one trade) they will save almost all their tax bill. Do a 2 for 1 with both Browns (Devin & Bobby) and they could be a recipient of the distribution.

Because you had lots of money and no decent free agents to spend it on.

Kinda like the Nets will be at the end of this year.

In other news, another day, another blowout loss to a bad team. Jeez Charlotte, Chicago and the Knicks must be pretty embarrassed to have lost to this NBL standard franchise.
