When all the talk should be about our imminent venture into the Finals, the stupid media continues to sprout mis-information about the Reserves debate.

Again, 2 things sell papers in this town, good news about the AFC, and bad news about Port Adelaide.

How many Power supporters are actually Magpies supporters???

Those who aren't Magpies supporters, what made you support the Power???

Those of you who support both the Magpies and Power, how many Magpies games have you attended since we joined the AFL???

Apart from the zones the Magpies receive from being in the SANFL, why can't the Power take over all, or most of the community work the Magpies do at the moment???

How many kids dream about playing seniors for the Magpies, compared to playing for the Power???

How would we be looking financially if only the Power existed with a seniors and reserves team and there were no Magpies???

Would we gain more supporters over the next 20 years operating as just the Power and no Magpies, or would the number decline???

Would the suburb Port Adelaide fall and crumble if the Magpies didn't exist???

What would our future look like if we didn't have to deal with the SANFL at all, or just on a Power reserves team level???

As for history... It won't automatically disappear if we shut down the Magpies ffs. We were born from the Magpies, Port Adelaide gained the licence to enter the AFL and because of Collingwood, we couldn't wear black and white and have a nickname of the Magpies, so we added teal to our colours and picked a new nickname the Power.

We are Port Adelaide, we'll always be Port Adelaide, even if the Magpies didn't exist.

Could it be that the death of the magpies and us caving into the shitty Power reserves deal be two mutually exclusive things?

i.e. the staff briefing that the magpies are dead meant that they're preparing for the SANFL directors to vote us out. Rather than us accepting the deal?

The things the sanfl want us to give up, are what have made Port Adelaide the footy club it is today.
Without these things, Port would not exist today. You wouldn't have the Power to follow in the AFL.

I would be pissed if we stayed in the SANFL as solely a reserves side and killed the magpies.
If the magpies are dead, the SANFL can GAGF.

Put our reserves in the VFL, have an U/18s side in the SAAFL or similar comp, and move on !
But nothing would make me happier than telling the sanfl to GAGF!

It's a shame it wasn't that clear for everyone. And this is the bigger picture vis-a-vis hearts and minds.

The money and time we've spent correcting the hits taken to the bottom line, revenue streams, our supporter base and our very identity because the club just assumed everyone would sing from the same songsheet despite unwittingly declaring and instantly losing a huge PR-war over the Power-Magpies issue is unfathomable.

LOL WE KNOW WHO WE ARE/WHAT HAPPENED, WE'LL BE RIGHT didn't work in 1995-7 and it most certainly won't work in 2013-2015.
