Yep GO SA! There is no excuse why we shouldn't win with the side we have. Only question mark with SA side is that it is a fairly small side, most midfielders are not particularly large but they make up for that with their talent. VIC Metro seem to have bigger bodies but I don't really know a lot about them only a select few.

Watch out for Hurley today, leather poisoning candidate. Should rack up the most possies for SA and is captain. Gibbs is another to watch out for and Sellar too..as everyone knows lol.

Really peeved I can't see it, will try and hope for a live feed but on dialup that aint much good either

Watch out for a thrilling potential match up- gibbs vs everitt..

You heard it here first, 2 potential first rounders up against each other

He might not have it as easy as some think. With such a high profile he will be targeted, not that any of that stuff ruffles his feathers...he is a class act and should play very well.

Hurley would be one who would slip under the radar a little, even tho he is captain, he doesn't have the massive wraps and pressure that Gibbs has.

Very keen to see how Sellar goes given the strong performances from Hansen and Gumbleton.

To help SA win, Sellar needs to hold down CHF for most of the game with the odd run in the ruck. Having a great CHF will be vital for our structure because SA does not have a very good forward line. Great midfield, great defence, average forward line. Sellar at CHF strengthens it, Jacobs should play mostly in the ruck, big big lad this bloke, 199cm 101kg.

i can tell ya right now thunder, with a bit of close attention gibbs can be stopped. However, he is a class act and if he only touches it 15 times, 15 times he'll hurt opponents.

Clearly you haven't seen a dvd of the game metro U16's vs S.A u16's last year from south port?

Great start to VM. Really got out of the blocks fast.

Hawkins took some big marks in that quarter and looks very fast on the lead. Odd looking bloke but looks AFL ready in terms of body size. Obviously has a lot of talent. Prismall also did well up forward. Clark looked ok in defence.

SA hit back late in that quarter and are back in the contest. Got thrashed in the middle early. Sellar and Thomas basically ahvent touched it. Hurley has dominated as expected and Gibbs has had some pretty good touches. Schmidt looks alright as well.

Need a lift from our talls if we are going to win this one

Yer Schmidt is a solid midfielder for us who would be in that 2nd tier behind Gibbs and Hurley.

Johnson26, I aint seen that DVD but I've seen enough of Gibbsy to know his strengths and weaknesses.

Why the hell is Sellar rucking and getting beaten when we have a much bigger and strong ruckman in Jacobs who is apprently sitting at FF??

Time to get on top, need more from other blokes. SA have the talent to win by 30+ points but I doubt that will happen.

Im not watching the game atm...can anyone tell me how Nick Smith and Ryan Anderson are going for VM....having any influenece or many touches?
Thanks

Becoming a bit of a beating now. VM again too good in the midfield and too tall and strong up forward.

Schmidt and Hurley are playing well for SA. Anderson as well. Jacobs has to play ruck and only ruck. Gotta be the most un-agile tall ive seen and having him up forward is a waste as all he can do is stand in one spot and hope for a mark.

Hawkins still dominant. Houli looks a player

A lot of SAs big names are letting us down. Thomas, Sellar, Pfieffer and Edwards havent had much influence whilst Millar has been on the ground for 10 seconds.

Metro all over the crow eaters. At the start of the carnival metro were rated as the supreme underdogs as they really only had one player touted to be a top 15 draft pick (houli). HOw wrong the pundits got it!

South Australia were rated because they had the lieks of gibbs and sellar, and willy bryce has delivered, james looks out of his depth out there. mat Kreuzer from the knights has been exceptional for the metro, and if he continues the way he's playing atm throughout the carnival, he will be the All Australian Ruck man.

Also patty veszpremi's quick hands under pressure has been a feature of his game, along with a booming, penetrating kick.

Not many positivesto be taken from S.A recruiting wise, other than the form of Gibbs.
If sellar continues his poor performance throughout the carnival (hypothetically), we could see a 'mitch clarke' effect where his stocks may decrease. Atm not looking top 5 material.

34 points down a half time SA, disgraceful performance by the sounds. Team, not training together for the full has not helped them gel and work as a team and as a consequence are getting pasted by a better team rather than a team of champs like we seem to have.

More need to support Hurley and Gibbs, they cant do it all. Midfield MUST LIFT. Thats a strength of the side.

Hawkins would have to be a top 5 prospect based on what I've seen... cept fortunately we've already nobbled him. Yippee! Heard him compared to J. Brown and probaly not an unfair comparison. Very strong through the hips, great hands, mobile, booming kick... ready made for 2007 rd 1.

Did I hear one of the commentators say that Mat Kreuzer couldn't be drafted this year as he is too young?

Not J.Brown like, Id leave that comparrison to Gumbleton. Hawkins isnt like any Ive seen for quite a while. Dare I say Barry Hall like ?
