I get it. You don't like or respect religion.
Yeah there's zero basis for me to give a shit about organised discrimination.

You think we should respect the beliefs of people who choose to be religious over how people are born.

Tolerance is a two way street. Tolerance cannot be demanded from one set of people if that same set are intolerant of others. Well it can but it will be open to ridicule.

I am not sure why you deleted your post chef but it’s clear you mean from the ladies team? The only openly gay male sportsperson in the world I know of is Josh Cavallo. It’s unfortunately not something men are comfortable with in the sporting world. But there are plenty of openly gay female sportspeople, so perhaps United do have plenty.
Undeleted.

Your ladies team has plenty, plus your staff and also from your male teams(though actions like this among others are why they are scared to come out).

If he doesn't want to wear it let him, doesn't mean the rest of the team can't get behind a great initiative.

What a ridiculous stance. We should be tolerant to bigots to expect it back. This is like the "we need to be equal to both sides" when it comes to flat earthers and anti vaxxers. Or to an extreme we should tolerate people who are nazis otherwise we're hypocrites for supporting the Jews. **** off with your garbage takes.

This isn’t whether people should eat meat or not. This is about respect and courtesy for other humans.

What haha. False equivalence much. There are over 800,000 muslims in Australia.

Australia has freedom of religion and belief. As long as people aren't imposing their beliefs on you or discriminating against you, what is the problem? Do you not have friends from different backgrounds and religions? Do you not respect their traditions and beliefs even if they aren't your own?

We're venturing into a much bigger topic here.

If they don't want to celebrate/participate in it, they shouldn't be made to. It does nothing but bring negative publicity to the fixtures and if anything, takes away from what's being celebrated.

Same thing happens every year with Celtic. They force upon them the minutes silence which Celtic fans interrupt by singing Aiden McAnespie. Once you have extended remembrance day to all British armed forces from all conflicts you have got an issue, particularly with a fan base that has significant Irish heritage. Outside of WW1 being a shit show all round and WW2 against Nazi Germany / Imperial Japan, the British army have not exactly been the "good guys" for most of history.

Eventually it will even happen here with Anzac Day. That has been extended to all conflicts here too to keep it relevant as the direct personal connection to WW1 fades across generations. Australian armed forces don't have quite the chequered past of the British but still, standing for a minutes silence to remember what Ben Roberts Smith & co did in Afghanistan doesn't have quite the same appeal as remembering the ANZACs.

Apart from the fact Auckland is screwed. Benfica, Boca and Bayern. Ouch.

What a farcical tournament. On what basis is Juventus there, ditto Chelsea. Salzburg another. Atletico. Why Inter but no AC Milan. No doubt some of the South America and Asian teams are selected on flimsy pretenses too.

I guess we did win a Champions League title kind of recently and maybe our coefficient?

12 spots from Europe.

City, Madrid and Chelsea qualify as champions league winners in the past 4 years.

Co-efficients decide who gets the remaining places with the exception that if a country has two spots already, they can't get a third via the co-efficient route.

Bayern Munich, PSG, Dortmund, Inter, Porto, Atletico Madrid, Benfica, Juventus, Salzburg.

Liverpool, Leipzig, Barcelona, Napoli, Sevilla, AC Milan would have qualified if there wasn't already 2 qualified clubs from their country.

Nice rebuttal haha
You're suggesting in order for gays to be respected they need to respect religious peoples right to not respect them. Do you know how dumb that is?

We're very quickly heading that way. Wasn't atheism higher on our last census than any other religion?

I think religion - at least in its extreme form - is gradually dying out in Western countries at least.

It was a useful form of population control back in the Middle Ages when it was fashionable, but more and more people are able to apply critical thinking these days.

My idea for the Club World Cup. 32 or 64 team knockout tournament. 32 or 64 of the top ranked leagues 1st div champions qualify. Max 5-6 games instead of 7.

No I'm not but that explains why you are posting the way you are.

Then perhaps you need to proof read what you're sending.

This all started because of a discussion about the right for religious people to not support gay rights, and are suggesting that 'respect is a two way street'. So you're suggesting that unless gay people respect religious people they shouldn't expect respect back. If that's not your suggestion then perhaps have a re-think.
