Tyson had nothing to lose.

Lose the fight and its just a young fighter beating up an old man.

Win the fight, add to your legend of Iron Mike and at nearing 60 can still knock out kids.

And 20 million dollars.

No brainer from him.

And nothing that happened in that fight takes away from the fact that Iron Mike in his prime would have ended that contest in probably around 30-40 seconds.

I've not played for many years, but here's something I've never understood.

Apart from winding up the home crowd if you're playing away from home, why do footballers give a toss about the placement of a ball on corners. Is the extra mm or two going to make that much of a difference?

It does seem pointless with no real advantage gained. I also notice that when a corner is taken on the lino's side they really don't care too much either. The only time I've seen it pulled up is when it's that obvious a referee can see it from 20-30m away. IIRC the ball is supposed to be on the line or inside the arc if you were to strictly comply with the LOTG.


It's a bit like the 6 second keeper release rule. Common sense applies with that. Only those keepers who really hang on to the ball for a long time are ever penalised. I don't reckon I've ever seen a keeper called for holding on to the ball for 7 seconds in their arms.

England v Ireland was like watching paint dry for the first 50 minutes. Ireland parked the bus and England did a lot of crab work. It all changed after Ireland had a man sent off and went 1-0 down. Gordon, Gallagher, Bowen, Harwood-Bellis all got their first senior international goals.

Jude was awesome. Always wanting the ball, breaking through lines, spraying diagonal passes. He seems to have removed the whinging from his game. Now he's just arrogant and deservedly so.
