Considering how many dumb free kicks we give away combined with how s**t we are defensively yeah it could be pretty bad.

The neanderthal handbags doesn't actually achieve anything. I thought only country football leagues still thought it was relevant.
Its all about backing up a mate.

In a time when we have spent countless hours on building so called team unity this area is one that brings teams together quicker than any kumbayah by the coach

Sure its old school and has the potential to backfire - but when opposition teams KNOW there will be no response then why not do it again

and again

and again

Watch Hawthorn and Richmond on how they deal with it - and now people call both teams unsociable - and Premiers

Funny that

I'm sure there are ways to be a faux-tough guy there too.

I get the logic at a lower level. It doesn't apply at the AFL level. Players aren't going to keep doing those tackles just because they didn't get a bit of a shove afterwards.
So you accept that players will just allow their teammates to be rag dolled without any sort of response?
Give it a spell.

I don't accept it does anything except project some intangible message primarily to fans. It also comes with risks.

I suppose if the fans wanted to see our players give a shit you might look at a remonstrating player and pat them on the head but in terms of things to hate at our club at the moment that's near back of the queue.

Agree to disagree.

3 weeks. Can’t do that these days. Having said that, the umpires insist on drawing out tackles and giving every opportunity for the ball to be handballed out or let loose so play goes on. That causes an issue in itself.

I’m not sure the Crows players nearby actually saw Parnell get dumped. The ball came out right at the moment he was slung and they were about to move it upfield.

Sh*ts me how on 360 and on the couch etc it's all about how much of a fair player Broad is or has been. Can't remember the same being said for McAdam
They are worried about tigers supporters switching off. They don't care about that from crows supporters as they have already turned off due to the Vic bias.

I agree with this.

You can't actually rough people up anymore at afl level (unless you want a 12 week holiday) so it doesn't deter anything.

Far out, we didn’t have to have someone go over and knock broad out, but what’s Parnell going to think of his team mates when he watches the vision back.
Obviously fogs didn’t see it as he’s never been afraid to get in there.
