Western Power on their game - power restored 4hrs ahead of schedule

Grids must of been well and truly working overtime today

Our homes are not built for this - no triple glazing etc or remarkable insulation.
Even the cockroaches are clamoring to get inside from the heat.

God only knows why Im trying to grow English Roses in this climate.

The wind has swung back to an east south easterly at the moment, back to almost 30 degrees presently. It ended up at 40.7 degrees on Saturday, Gingin got to 43 degrees while Pearce finished at 42 degrees.

Marble Bar had 47.7 degrees on Saturday, that's their 26th consecutive day of 43 degrees or more. They also had 49.3 degrees on 30 December 2023 while Roebourne had 49.5 degrees on 31 December 2023. That's the equal second highest temperature ever recorded in Australia during December.

Perth had has 7mm of rain since 4 October 2023. December 2023 saw no rainfall.

As much as I love summer, I don't miss that relentless heat of the Pilbara at all. Its been pretty brutal this summer up there. Just checked and its a rather chilly 35 at Marble Bar currently.

Deepest sympathies to those of you in the areas affected by the power blackout, it must be absolutely horrendous.

Still, no matter what public officials and self-interested parties say, don't let them use it as a reason to try and con people into letting them sell off Western Power.
