The boss is away today, I have had a huge week at work.... so I am genuinely taking lunch for the entire game today :D
So the bad news is, this didn't go as planned at all and I hardly watched any

the good news is, I have a stress free enjoyable replay to watch tonight!

This might be the only Sixers thread/forum in the world that hasn't really discussed LeBron to the Sixers...

Let's hear it...
Lots of love between LeBron and Jo at the end of the game

LeBron to Philly confirmed?

I mean, if he wants to come the front office obviously has to bring him in.

As an irrational fan, I don't really want it. The drama he brings with him, trading away guys for old dudes, having to worry about him bailing and leaving us in a bad spot, the childish passive aggressive social media stuff. I dunno, I'm well aware bringing him in if he wants is something they'd have to do, they'd be nuts in their position not to do it... I just don't really want it.

Having said that, as an irrational fan I'd be no doubt hyped and turning my smug into overdrive if it happened.

Colangelo doesn't seem like the patient type to wait potentially 2 more years for Kawhi, and would most likely work up a trade (Fultz + Saric/Cov + picks) to get him now, if the relationship between Kawhi and the Spurs is actually fractured.

The perfect scenario to me would be if LeBron and PG opt-in (or do a 1+1) to their contracts in the summer, and in 2019 we have those two, plus Kawhi if he declines his PO, Klay, Butler maybe even Durant in the FA class.

Next year would then still just be about inserting a 100% Fultz and another lottery pick into the system, which could still be enough to be thereabouts as far as a ECF spot is concerned.

I can go either way on LeBron, but to me bringing him in next season would mean that this team is going for titles right then and there. That feels like a jump this team (or anyone else) is not prepared for. Basketball fit wise, there's probably a slightly enough amount of shooting from LeBron there where it could potentially work - assuming LeBron is fine with deferring ball-handling duties and Ben at least moderately improves his shot - but it's still a hard sell.

Would however be having multiple discussions with PG13 cause he's a great ****ing fit for this team, but those upstart Lakers looking real nice rn.

Massive game verses the bucks. If we win, it'll give us a little buffer in the standings. Getting 3rd seed is definitely realistic but this is a vital match.

Pacers vs wizards today as well, hoping for a pacers win!

There are rumours we are very heavily into Paul George. Would be the perfect fit. Keep everyone apart from JJ (or sign Reddick on a deal in the 5million range) and make a play for the title in 2019. A starting five of Simmons, George, Covington, Embid and either Fultz or Saric would cause all kinds of match up problems. George, Covington, Embid and Simmons would make us dynamic on the defensive end as well. Everyone says 'How can you beat the Warriors?'. Having ridiculous length and forcing match-up problems for Steph Curry on the defensive end seems a terrific start.

I think PG13 would be a better fit for your side than LeBron too - given LeBron is more ball-dominant and is a similar player to Simmons in terms of their style of play. PG13 has age on his side and can shoot from deep, which means (theoretically) you would have more flexibility with player rotations in order to ensure you have enough shooters on the floor.

LeBron to the Sixers makes a lot of sense.

1. It's the only team he can go to that can sign him without blowing up their existing roster.
2. It addresses the main issues that both team and player has. LeBron consistently runs top 5 offensives (the 76ers are middle ranked for offensive efficiency); LeBron can no longer anchor a defense (the 76ers are a top 5 defensive team).
3. The core of the 76ers will continue to improve and that creates a long-term window to compete. LeBron gets the 76ers into the finals in the next couple of years and Ben and JoJo repay the favour after that.

The only real concern is the fit of Simmons and LeBron. That's not an issue though if both players are happy to, at times, work off the ball. And with each player's vision you've got to think they'd reward good cuts. Naturally you'd be asking LeBron to buy into that before he signs. Spacing is a minor concern but that'd be offset by mismatches. The team would be long and athletic; they can switch on everything and be disruptive on defense. The team would have the sort of length and athleticism that would force teams to adjust their line-ups.

Right now everyone is trying to beat Golden State at their own game. Tonnes of three-point shooters. The problem is that Golden State has the two best three point shooters and a SF with an almost flawless offensive game. Trying to beat them by outshooting them is a tall order but why not create a team that can defend them? Adding LeBron effectively does that with the added bonus that he always runs an efficient offense.

Adding LeBron to a team with two elite bigs and outstanding defense is a surefire way to 60+ wins and a spot in the NBA Finals. The only other player, potentially available, who can offer the same is Leonard.

For the record, there is no Paul George to the Sixers rumours other than simply hypothesising one of his potential destinations. For him to come over it would take the front office to shift their attention from LeBron and towards PG13, and not restrict themselves to a legacy move.

By definition, bringing LeBron into the mix is blowing up your team, regardless of whether you're trading anything for him or not. Simmons` role alone would be significantly changed, and whilst it would be good to see him as the roll guy in sets, without a credible jump shot you're going to at the very least be asking him to slow down the developmental process.

But yet LeBron to the Sixers has, at best, only been about like 10% on how he would fit in the team - the general take being you bring the best player in the world in and figure the other shit out later. The real debate, is more of a philosophical one about the Process, ego stroking and priorities.

Got a mate in Philly who says it is all over the media there (George to Philly). LeBron makes players better. Could enhance Ben significantly in the long term.If you think getting James is only a 10% chance then there has been a ridiculous amount of press on something that has no chance of happening. More likely a 20% chance with plenty of time to improve our chances if we get past the first round in the playoffs.

Edit: Some in the media in the US saying we are now 50/50 chance to sign LeBron. Lots and lots of noise here.
