I had a one complain to me about the umpiring..... despite it being heavily lopsided in their favour. When I brought that up the response was "its where you get them not how many"......
I wish we were umpired that unfairly every week.

The Slime and Freo have now played the same opposition at the same ground on 7 occasions so far in 2018; at Home - Essendon, Gold Coast, St Kilda and Away - GWS, Sydney & Carlton, plus the derby.
The Slime have won 5 of them. Freo have won 4. The difference is basically the derby which the Slime beat Freo by just 10 points.
The difference between Freo and the Slime is not as much as the ladder suggests.

the bin chickens still had something like 65 F50 entries. But, they just bombed it in Pearced style as if Darling or JK would clean up as usual with a contested mark and goal or tap to ground for one of their seagulls. Media were getting used to saying no Nicnat, no Eagles, but really no JK/Darling, not enough goals, no win. JK seems to be getting more fragile post 30 so it will be interesting if Darling is also a bit in and out with injury this year. They can say goodbye to top 4 if that is the case.

They were atrocious with their entries and it was glorious.
I'm looking forward to playing them again with the semblance of a forwardline. Keep McGovern honest and let Yeo tag Fyfe.

Every team does this though. Sometimes you just have no choice because you're under pressure, or there's no other option. It's why key forwards are so important and why they command top dollar. When you have a good key forward down there, it's not as noticeable because those long bombs don't look like bad entries.

They also did manage 22 scoring shots from those entries. They really should have been in a position to win that game, despite being down by 8 goals at one point, given their dominance of the last 2.5 quarters. I wouldn't be popping the champagne corks on the Eagles demise for this season quite yet.

It was the massive armchair ride they got from the umpires that got them back in the game. Absolute disgusting.
yeah and thats the problem, they always without fault get that armchair ride, cannot write off their season.

David Hale has done really good work with Cox and Apeness (and Tabs) in their body and overhead work.
Tough day for the Ape but he pulled through nicely.
Sandilands, Fyfe, Hill, Blakeley and Tabenuer all missing through injury. Not to mention Bennell.
West coast have three of their best 22 out and have struggled. GWS have found form with the likes of Kelly and others coming back into the side. injuries have a huge impact on confidence and performance.
I am of the opinion we would have won today had we had a full strength side.
