The Precinct at Alberton (Formerly The Port Club)

It wasn't a cultural centre as such. An admin building for the community programs, accommodation, with some indigenous stuff around it. See the Alberton oval redevelopment thread's first couple of pages.

Went in this arvo for a meal for the first time since it’s been renovated, great view sitting out on the deck and the staff were really nice…

Unfortunately after we ordered the garlic bread pizza as a starter and then chicken parmy for mains we waited 50 minutes for no food (and no staff behind the bar) to head up and get our money back and walk out. Really poor form.

I visited The Precinct for the first time on the day of the Gold Coast game. It was supposed to be a special occasion to commemorate my late uncle who was a lifelong Port Adelaide supporter. I can say with absolute confidence that I won't ever be returning.

In short: The service was shocking, the food was below average, and there were technical issues galore. The waiting staff 'forgot' the coffee order we paid for after lunch, but were seen happily making coffees for each other and hanging around chatting in the middle of service. There was also a tripping hazard on the dining room floor (a fallen 'wet floor' sign) which staff were alerted to, but chose to do nothing about.

Not one of our party of ten left happy, and I felt thoroughly embarrassed as the only other Port Adelaide supporter in my family.

Is any part of this club well-managed?
