See if Fitzy is up for the job?Mathieson had the list management portfolio. They probably need a football person more than a business / politics type as a replacement.

That doors always been wide open.See if Fitzy is up for the job?
He's no longer young but he is a big time operator. That doors always been wide open.
I would say a lot of noise went silent since the Mathieson name went. Campaign of deliberately created division gone.I am guessing Mathieson replacement will be made at next AGM when there can be a more wholistic look at other changes. I don't think we're missing anything, and indeed, we've probably gained something by this particular vacancy.
Could not disagree more. But anyway…what you say holds true only in a tiny insignificant market called Australian listed equities - one of my key listed and private equity filters is a preference for investing in companies whose management and Board have skin on the table and at risk - only a casual look at the broad levels of sycophantic incompetency in Australian Companies would even support the notion of 'governance' as expressed in the simplicity of 'term limits'.

Maybe we need a self opinionated, (supposedly) rich person to fill the vacancy. Anyone on here you can think of?Arrow

Love reading this email again.Hi skadoosh,
We are clearly disappointed and frustrated with our start to the year.
The first 10 weeks, whilst providing us with glimpses of what our AFL side is capable of, have also shown that right now, we’re off the mark against the best teams in the competition.
There is no point sugar coating it, it simply hasn’t been good enough to this point. We’d rather own it now, so that we can get on with addressing it.
It comes as no surprise to any of us that there has been significant external noise around our football club this year. We’ve deserved our whacks at times, we absolutely accept that, and cop it on the chin.
What we won’t do though, is let external narratives dictate our reality.
That reality sees us currently two points out of the top eight, with 13 games to go. That is the challenge ahead of us for the remainder of the year.
A challenge that is well and truly achievable, but it is on us to rise to it.
We will be judging our season in its totality, after 24 rounds, not 10.
There is a lot of football still to be played and if last season taught us anything, it is that a season is a marathon, fortunes can change and it’s on us now to change ours for the better.
Rest assured, nobody is just sitting on their hands here, assuming the wheel will turn.
Our leaders, everyone at Carlton, are right now demanding better out of each other.
We have not been afraid to have the tough conversations we need to.
This football club is done with finger pointing.
Stability and unity in your football program is what gets you through tough patches.
I acknowledge it may not be what some want to hear but for the next 13 weeks and hopefully longer this season, we are in this together and that is not changing. Every step of the way.
Two points out of the eight, with 13 games to go. Our destiny is very much in our own hands. So let’s own that, and get on with it.
Clearly success will only be earned by this football club if we stick together and be ruthless in our drive to improve in the second half of the year.
To you, our members, you have played your part so far this year. The sold-out crowds speak for themselves but to be honest still only tell half the story.
Your investment in this football club is incredible, not just on match day but every day.
While clearly we know there has been frustration, anger at times, we know you come from a place of care, of passion and a deep connection to the football club you love.
Give me a supporter base like ours over any other, any day of the week.
Take care of yourselves and look after each other Bluebaggers. We’re in this together every step of the way this year, no matter what.
The prospects of Sayer avoiding this are close to zero imo. As the CEO, I think he was either all over it, or should have been. So I guess it boils down to whether you think he’s dodgy or incompetent. Just my opinion of course. No idea where this should go.
Mods, please move as needed.
This can’t be good for us in the current environment…

For the sake of balance it must be said that Joe Aston is hardly the personification of an impartial journalist.Read "Rear Window" joe aston myriam robin in Australian Fin Review. P40.
That is consultancy culture for you.
How can Sayers request another year as President, with that hanging over his head
Aston appears to be a bit of an ass and loves hyperbole but I don’t recall him ever being really wrong about anything. For the sake of balance it must be said that Joe Aston is hardly the personification of an impartial journalist.
Lost a fairly recent court case and had to pay $280,000 for "bullying" a woman and has appeared on media watch for presenting homophobic views about s target whilst accusing others of doing the same thing.
Not using this as a defence for Sayers but rather presenting it as a counter balance and context for "this reporter said this so it must be true".
At least it gives agro another opportunity to run with his ridiculous consultancy culture line.
I would counter with the likelihood of anything coming of this is closer to zero. We live in a world where whistle blowers are being prosecuted for exposing war criminals and while the war criminals walk free. Same with the ATO and corrupt dealings in East Timor. It will all go nowhere and be forgotten in the next news cycle as we find out more instances of corruption by the big 4.The prospects of Sayer avoiding this are close to zero imo. As the CEO, I think he was either all over it, or should have been. So I guess it boils down to whether you think he’s dodgy or incompetent. Just my opinion of course.
Ad hominem commentary. For the sake of balance it must be said that Joe Aston is hardly the personification of an impartial journalist.
